One of many fun projects I got to work on at @NatGeo 🧐✍️ the mechanism of how fire ants make living rafts! 🐜🐜🐜 The ants below the surface trap air bubbles b/w their bodies to create a giant, buoyant raft of doom / sedan chair for the queen 👑🐜

Here's a time-lapse of a @SciAm story I worked on (glymphatic system of the brain). Like science, visual storytelling is really messy behind the scenes (usually 1 step forward, 3 steps back..) but that's how we learn and improve! 🙂🖌️🧠
