We know they constructed boats that crossed seas, built great cities, and invented the alphabet, but do we really know who the #Canaanites were? Ancient DNA has the answers. youtu.be/pNg3Z9HP_b8

🗿✨ The Mysterious Origins of Staff God Worshippers ✨🗿 In the heart of the high Andes, the ancient city of Tiwanaku stands as a testament to the extraordinary achievements of its civilization, known for its monumental architecture and vibrant culture. Between 300 and 1000 CE, the Tiwanaku civilization flourished, positioned strategically on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Their society revolved around the worship of the enigmatic Staff God, a deity believed to embody the principles of agriculture, fertility, and celestial order. Artifacts depicting this figure reveal a society deeply connected to their environment, yet it was their interaction with diverse populations that forged their identity. As the Tiwanaku expanded their influence across the Andean region, they assimilated various communities, leading to remarkable genetic transformations. Studies have revealed that the Tiwanaku people held predominantly haplogroups C and Q in their paternal lineages, with C-M130 serving as a key marker indicating connections to early populations of the Americas. Their maternal lineages showed significant diversity, including haplogroups A, B, C, D, and F, reflecting a melting pot of cultures that thrived alongside them. The migrations that shaped Tiwanaku were not solely limited to the Andes; evidence suggests interactions with coastal societies and even groups from the Amazon rainforest, leading to a broader genetic network. These connections were facilitated by intricate trade routes that traversed the mountain ranges, allowing for not only the exchange of goods but ideas and beliefs as well. The fall of the Tiwanaku civilization in the late first millennium opened a new chapter in South American history. Disruptions caused by climate change, warfare, and social strife saw their influence wane, but the legacy of the Staff God worshippers endured, their genetic imprint still present in modern descendants found across Bolivia and neighboring regions. The study of ancient DNA continues to reshape our understanding of these people, revealing the complex narratives of migration, adaptation, and survival. How closely do we share ancestry with the ancient peoples who guided their lives by the stars, the earth, and the profound mysteries of the cosmos? Do you wish to explore your Tiwanaku Staff God worshipper origins? A bronze mirror from the Dian kingdom around Lake Dian in Yunnan, southwest China, cast somewhere between the 3rd and 1st centuries BC. The seven-rayed star at the centre is a Han Chinese design. The ring of linked monkeys around the rim is not. Somebody took an imported form and made it local.
