"Climate change poses significant risks to Africa's environment, economies and populations. We must ensure that climate finance reaches the most vulnerable; NSA are at the heart of the vulnerable communities, and they must play their role in ensuring the climate finance reaches the grassroots. ACS2 is crucial in consolidating a common African position and we must accelerate mobilization from Addis to Belem, this is only possible if we foster progressive partnerships"- Joachim Beijmo, Head of Regional Development Cooperation, Embassy of Sweden, Ethiopia.

Dear Sabina Chege, Withdraw this bill. If you won't do it for Kenyans, do it for your people in Murang'a. Who are predominantly farmers. You're about to BETRAY a whole community because of Bill Gates who is already a trillionaire. Those people trusted you to vouch for their interests. Think about it! #RejectSHIF Reject Horticulture Bill #JusticeForBruce

Day 4 of #UNEA6, the agenda unfurls with a diverse array of sessions, prominently highlighting responsible mining—an issue that resonates profoundly with my perspectives. -As the discussions weave through the intricacies of sustainable practices, ethical considerations, and the delicate balance between environmental preservation and resource extraction, my optimism for transformative change swells. -Responsible mining emerges as a guiding principle, illuminating a path where the pursuit of essential minerals aligns seamlessly with a profound commitment to ecological harmony. -The discourse underscores a collective dedication to extractive practices that prioritize environmental stewardship and ethical standards. -This emphasis on responsible mining not only signifies a pivotal moment in our global commitment to sustainability but also charts a course towards a future where the Earth's resources are unearthed conscientiously and sustainably. -The echoes of these discussions resonate with the urgent call for a harmonious coexistence between humanity's resource needs and the imperative to safeguard our planet. #ResponsibleMining #UNEA6 @PACJA1

Attending the @ActionAid_Kenya climate justice campaign launch. Climate finance remains a major issue in the continent with developed nations failing to deliver on their pledges on the 100 billion USD Adaptation financing. Despite progress stemming from COP 27 in establishment of the Loss and Damage Facility, Africa remains vulnerable and continues to bear the brunt in loss and damages from the climate crisis. Reimagining and reshaping the financial climate architecture remains pivotal for Africa's vulnerable populations to adapt and remain resilient. #ClimateAction #adaptation #ClimateAction – at Nairobi, Kenya

Addressing the climate crisis requires a collective effort. It is imperative that every country, particularly the significant emitters, demonstrates global solidarity. Regrettably, this seems to be in short supply. The Paris Agreement's commitments and assurances are not being upheld, and the disparity between what needs to be done and what is being accomplished is growing more pronounced with each passing day. The conflict in Ukraine has highlighted the significant dangers posed by our reliance on fossil fuels. Using current pressing issues as justification for regression or disingenuous environmental efforts is unacceptable. #ClimateAction #Climate #ClimateJustice #CCDA2023 – at Nairobi, Kenya

"We reject false solutions and narratives that undermine African communities' rights, interests and sovereignty, such as carbon markets, geoengineering, nuclear energy, and the principle of share responsibilities. We remind African leaders that some proposals or actions claim to address the climate crisis. In reality, they either have no significant impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions or, worse, have negative social and environmental consequences. These proposals are promoted by powerful interests that benefit from maintaining the status quo of fossil fuel dependence, and they divert attention and resources from the real solutions that are urgently needed." #ACS23 #ACSWeWant @WilliamsRuto @HonTuya @UNFCCC

The paradigm shift occasioned by challenges posed by the changing climate should make acceptable concepts such as indigenous rights and the rights of Mother Earth as they emanate from values that are evident in African cultures and are embedded in the understanding of cooperation that emanates from Africa people. They are the foundation and the cooperation is needed to ensure climate justice for all Africans is achieved. #pacja #ClimateAction #ClimateJustice

We, the civil society from Africa under the auspices of the @PACJA1, we are here in Bonn to voice our concerns and demands on behalf of the millions of Africans suffering from climate change’s impacts. We are here to remind the Parties to the UNFCCC of their moral and legal obligations to protect our planet and our people from the existential threat of global warming. We are here to hold them accountable for their actions and inactions that have caused and exacerbated this crisis.#pacja

The time for speaking about climate change has passed. we need climate action now. We need those disproportionately affected by climate change crises like indigenous communities to lead the conversation where the solutions and alternatives are being discussed. #climate #PACJA
