Welcome to the @LibDems, Kieran. πΆ
I am delighted to announce that I have joined the Liberal Democrats. πΆ
And yes, before X beats me to it, I was briefly a member for three months when I was 17. It turns out I just took the long way home π
The last few weeks have given me time to reflect on my political beliefs, why I entered politics and what matters most to me.
Spending part of my childhood in the care system shaped who I am today. It taught me early on that life isnβt always fair, that not everyone gets the same opportunities, and that having someone in your corner can make all the difference.
That experience is a big part of why I entered politics. To me, liberalism is about giving everyone the freedom, fairness and opportunity to make something of their lives, regardless of their background.
My decision to leave the Green Party over their βZionism is racismβ motion was one of principle. I will never compromise on challenging prejudice.
At a time when extremism and division are increasingly dominating politics, I believe we need a positive alternative. One that offers hope over fear, brings people together and focuses on what really matters.
Even as a Green councillor, I respected the way the Liberal Democrats challenged Labour and held the administration to account.
Having now spoken with the Sefton Liberal Democrats , Iβm encouraged by their positive vision for our borough and their commitment to local communities.
Iβm proud to be joining the team and look forward to playing my part in its future.

π° It was great to pop into the Community CafΓ© today. There is always a warm welcome, not to mention delicious soup and cakes! We are commencing regular councillor surgeries here, so residents can talk to us about any local issues or concerns they may have. Weβll keep you posted.

Trumpβs mad war in Iran is fuelling the cost of living crisis.
Last weekβs budget failed to deliver a plan for growth.
The Liberal Democrats will keep pushing for closer ties with Europe, including joining the single market and customs union, to boost our economy immediately.
"I think we could benefit from a much closer trade and defence relationship with Europe."
Ed Davey says the UK should rejoin the EU's single market and customs union, which would lead to "free movement of labour".
Losing a long-standing high street business is always a blow to a community. But when that business is the last keeper of an area's entire industrial heritage, it cuts much deeper β threatening a piece of local identity itself.

A Nazi bully at school - @Nigel_Farage denies this despite 34 witnesses to the contrary - he is a bully MP.
He told people he didn't go to the budget because he did not want an altercation with an MP.
It turns out that this is @LibDems' @CarolineVoaden.
Pathetic.
I am not shocked by his shameful behaviour because of the testimony of so many witnesses for my book, The Real Nigel Farage.
Nasty piece of work.
Exclusive:
Nigel Farage's "physical altercation" during the State Opening of Parliament was with the Lib Dem MP Caroline Voaden - and has caused an major row between Reform and the Lib Dems.
Lib Dem sources say Voaden was left "shocked and shaken" after he "shoved" her to secure a place in the procession of MPs to the King's Speech.
Video from the Commons Chamber that day shows Farage and Voaden making their way down from their benches together.
Voaden reported the incident to the Serjeant at Arms and says Farage was asked to apologise - but hasn't.
A Reform spokesman denies any wrongdoing by Farage, saying "it was the Lib Dem MPs being aggressive towards Nigel". Lib Dems say that is "utter nonsense"
Farage said yesterday that the "physical altercation" was the reason he didn't put up a fight to be in the Chamber for the Budget after his prayer card to save a space was removed.
He said he thought that after the row with Voaden, it was "better to avoid conflict".
But in a further twist, a Commons spokesman says Farage's card was only removed because it didn't have a date stamp, which are required to reserve a spot.

Arenβt you the guy who was jailed for beating up a woman, and then downplayed it as a βteenage indiscretionβ? How on earth do you think you can lecture anyone on this?
I was right there in the Chamber - you can see me. Fact.
I saw Farage put his hands on @CarolineVoaden to shove her out the way. Fact.
Caroline shrieked in shock. Fact.
No physical altercation is featured in the clip that is circulating - it happened in the seconds before. Fact.
Caroline reported this to the Speaker and Sergeant-at-Arms at the time. Fact.
Caroline then got on with her job because she hasnβt got time for this shit. Fact.
Iβve tried to find myself in the video because I remember this pretty clearly.
I think Iβm one row back just out of shot on the left of the screen.
Itβs completely beyond me how and why Caroline has presented herself as the victim here. She was bloody rude and really quite confrontational and she did it for no other reason than Nigel is Nigel and she wanted to give him a piece of her mind.
Anything other than it being a bit of a rush and a squeeze because of the occasion is nonsense.
From what I remember Caroline was both the instigator and the aggressor.

Fake news.
I was 2nd in the MPsβ queue from 7.30am this morning (behind Des Swayne) for a prayer card to reserve a seat and there was no sign of Farage then.
I didnβt see him come to prayers at 11.30am to come and claim a seat then either.
You snooze, you lose.
Nigel Farage was unable to attend the Budget in the Commons because his seat reservation was removed, The Telegraph understands.
The Reform UK leaderβs prayer card β a green slip of paper that backbench MPs put on a spot on the green benches to reserve their seat β was moved after it was placed this morning.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Farage's prayer card lacked a valid date stamp and was removed per House of Commons protocol. MPs confirm seats were available and he did not attend prayers.

Wait, WHAT??
You mean he LIED to the press and made up a fake story to cover the fact he couldnβt be bothered to go to the budget?
Shooketh. Hope everyoneβs ok, this is brand new information.
NEW:
It has since emerged that Nigel Farage did not attend prayers in the Commons this morning so did not properly reserve his seat
