The Conservative camp has been trying to restrict media access this whole campaign. And now they're telling journalists to "go away".
Lorne Doerkson meets with volunteers and candidate Alex McMillan in Eby’s riding of Vancouver-Point Grey. It was supposed to be a photo op but a reporter asked Doerkson how he responds to Eby calling him a “Trojan horse” for extreme candidates. Here’s what he said: #bcpoli

Supporters of the BC NDP and the Green Party share a lot of the same values. Strong public health care, protecting the place we call home, and asking the wealthiest to chip in more to build a stronger B.C. That’s why we're asking for your support and your vote to stop Conservative cuts, higher costs and chaos. If we stand together, we can build B.C. strong.

Today in Vancouver, I stood with nurses and committed to enshrining minimum nurse-to-patient ratios in law. Having a nurse who actually has time to focus on you makes all the difference. B.C. was the first in Canada to guarantee how many patients each nurse cares for, and it’s already helped us bring on more than 4,700 more nurses. Our plan will: 1. Enshrine nurse-to-patient ratios in law, starting next with emergency rooms 2. Add 1,000 training seats for nurses, nurse practitioners, allied health workers and care aides 3. Keep connecting people to family doctors 4. Bring down wait times for tests and surgeries There’s a clear choice in this election. The BC Conservatives are hiding billions in health care cuts and won’t rule out a health minister who supports an American-style, for-profit system. When health care is already under strain, we can’t afford that.

Today, we are announcing that a re-elected BC NDP government will protect you from gouging and unfair pricing. We’ll ban ticket scalping and prohibit predatory algorithmic pricing. We’ll expand the power of Consumer Protection BC, introduce right to repair legislation and restrict the non-compete clauses that hold workers back.

Lorne Doerkson and the BC Conservatives want a “review” of infrastructure spending. That’s just code for cuts, just like their plan for the Massey Tunnel. Surrey can't afford Conservative cuts.
Newton is growing fast, and the people who live there deserve SkyTrain at their doorstep. A BC NDP government will work with Surrey to bring it down King George Boulevard. Mayor McCallum and I got SkyTrain to Langley moving together. Let’s do it again for Newton.

Thanks to mayor-elect Pete Fry for joining us in Stanley Park this morning. On a day when Alberta is voting on its future, we came together for one simple message: whether it’s Canada or British Columbia, we’re strongest when we stand together.

Not only will the BC NDP always support a united Canada - but we're clear that there's absolutely no room for separatism in our party. Why are Conservative MLAs Bryan Tepper, Heather Maahs, and David Williams in the separatist BC Prosperity Project Facebook group?🧵

I'm glad the rest of BC has noticed @HeatherMaahs and her awful views. One thing that's been missed: her blog post supporting a slave auction in a school, and **putting a student in blackface** in school productions of To Kill a Mockingbird. #bcpoli

There's a *ton* of BS in the Cons costing but maybe the biggest is a $2B/year cut to contingencies. Healthcare caseload growth is by far the biggest use of contingencies. So if they're cutting contingencies, they're cutting healthcare.

I’m inviting all progressive voters to join us in this election. If you’ve voted Green in the past, we share a lot of the same values, and there’s too much at stake right now. In 11 seats last time, the Green vote was the difference between a Conservative and a New Democrat. We can stop Conservative cuts and build B.C. strong if we stand together.

The people building the new Massey Tunnel are driving the piles, driving the trucks and moving the dirt to make it happen. They’re supporting their families. The BC Conservatives want to cancel this project and send them home. The workers I spoke with are shocked anyone would even propose it. There’s a clear choice in this election. We can keep building and hiring, or cancel and fire. I stand with the British Columbians who are building our province. A BC NDP government will finish the new toll-free Massey Tunnel and keep good jobs on the project.

Today in Coquitlam, at the site of the new Burke Mountain High School, I talked about what’s at stake in this election. The Conservative leader’s promises blow a $5 billion hole in the budget, and he still won’t say how he’d pay for it. BC Conservatives have admitted education and health care would take the brunt. Our plan will: 1. Keep building the schools and hospitals our growing communities need 2. Keep hiring doctors and teachers 3. Ask those with the most to chip in a bit more 4. Take on big oil and the grocery giants to bring down your costs 5. Keep working with the Prime Minister to build a stronger, more independent Canada The BC Conservatives will cut schools and hospitals. We’ll keep building them. That’s how we build B.C. strong.

It’s hard to find the words. The Conservative candidate for Juan de Fuca-Malahat saying, on camera, that First Nations need to be conquered. I think of all the First Nations in that constituency and what this attack must feel like to them.

Under a Conservative government British Columbia will build big things again. On time and on budget.

This is bananas. Construction has already started and the federal government has committed up to $3 billion for this project. And the BC Conservatives just want to….throw it all away?
NEW - @Conservative_BC promise to scrap long-delayed @bcndp Massey Tunnel project (which still doesn’t have enviro approval) and build a 10 lane bridge instead. Also promises to complete new Surrey Hospital in Cloverdale, and build a new Women and Children's Hospital in Surrey.
