@_HarrisonTuttle in the @projo: RI's economic crisis has deep roots. We face a systemic crisis of homelessness and economic instability, rooted in decades of policy choices -

We need someone to run against Providence City Councilors John Goncalves, James Taylor, Ana Vargas, Oscar Vargas and Pedro Espinal. Take the pledge to not take money from corporate PACs, corporate lobbyists, developers, the fossil fuel industry, and the police or ICE!
Hey Rhode Island, if you’re a union worker and support rent stabilization in Providence, let Providence City Councilor James Taylor know you’re watching how he votes and will follow up with collective action.

Brett Smiley’s budget assumes tax collection will magically go up. That means either:
A) he cheated the numbers to make last year’s tax increase look smaller than it really was
B) he’s cheating the numbers to create a budget crisis for @DavidMoralesPVD next year

Providence deserves a Mayor who understands the challenges that working people face and is prepared to meet the moment with solutions that prioritize their needs!
Tonight, the Mayor demonstrated once again that he isn’t listening to our neighbors.
Why would #Providence City Councilor @JoannRyanPVD5 stop @MSanchezPVD from connecting the dots between campaign contributions and how city councilors are voting on #RentStabilization?
Washington Park and the Lower Southside of Providence deserve a city councilor who represents them and not the interests of their donors.

A majority of U.S. voters oppose another regime change war in the Middle East. #NoWarWithIran
RI needs @GovDanMcKee to call a state of emergency and open up shelter for the unhoused before the blizzard starts or more Rhode Islanders will freeze to death.
Skipping the state of the union is cool, but not giving a single dollar to ICE is better. @SenateDems @HouseDemocrats
The demand isn’t reform, it’s #AbolishICE!

Call your Senators and demand that they refuse to provide more of our tax dollars to support extrajudicial killings by masked, white supremacist paramilitaries: (202) 224-3121

The owner of Strive was at the Providence City Council hearing for the introduction of Rent Stabilization.
It will be important to have city council packed with supporters at the committee hearing when public testimony will happen. Date TBD
#RentStabilization #Providence
Next steps in the rent stabilization process are:
Committee hearing where people can provide public testimony. With a hopeful vote to send it out of committee
A vote by the full council
A second vote by the full council
Mayor Smiley vetos it
A 10 out of 15 vote to overturn veto

Thank you Senator @RubenGallego. I hope our #RhodeIsland Senators, @SenWhitehouse & @SenJackReed, can somehow find the courage to join you in standing up for human rights and the rule of law.
Call 401-521-7477 to push the 5 #PVD city councilors on the fence to support #RentStabilization. John Goncalves, Shelley Peterson and Ana Vargas have stated they are undecided and Joann Ryan and Oscar Vargas haven’t responded.
If your city councilor is in support of rent stabilization, thank them for supporting it. Miller, Pichardo, Davidson, AnderBois, Roias, Sanchez, Harris & Graves support it.
Pedro Espinal and James Taylor are publicly against rent stabilization.
