#localgov #digtial services are being centralised. Read what I think about it here: philrumens.blogspot.com/2019…
Great thread
I want to do some UX research myth busting.
Myth #1: "We can't afford to do user testing"
What other myths should I bust? 🤓🙈

This one made me feel irrationally angry to read, tbh. #uxmyths

Has anyone done any work on what users expect of #localgov online? For example what % of people expect to be able to check their council tax balance, or request a replacement bin, online?

When you have a doc to review in a meeting, you should do a really counter-intuitive thing:
DON'T send it out beforehand.
Instead, share the doc at the *beginning* of the meeting and have everyone read it, silently, *in the meeting*.

On formatting content, @NickColley just said “that’s why markdown is so good”.
I asked “who is Mark Down?”
I’ll add him to the list of People I’ve Learned Are Not Real People along with:
Jason (JSON)
Jake Weary (jQuery)
Travis (the deployment squirrel)
Anymore for anymore?

There is great scope for wider sharing of #localgov digital successes and skills, says @HitachiSolEu Richard Shipton - especially if they are already on a common platform

Was ready to question why these principles are needed when the government design principles already exist, but I quite like points about 'design for trust' and 'design for outcome'
