Nice surprise for the two kiddies this morning with tickets for the #FACup match tonight at Old Trafford. ❤️ 🖤
Only thing best in class about Manchester United is the match going supporters and Jim wants to fuck them all off. Lol.
How does Jason fuckin Wilcox as CEO appointing Eddie fuckin Howe as manager equate in any way shape or form to best in class?? Please. Someone tell me.
I really think this is the most important managerial appointment in Uniteds history. It can't be another shot in the dark. Needs to be experienced (unlike Ole & Carrick), needs to know the demands of the PL (unlike ETH & Amorim), needs personality, needs to be Emery or Conte IMO.
Why are people so sure Glazers will fuck off if we're relegated? As long as United make money theyll be there to take dividends. They may well go if it happens but I dont think it's a guarantee.
He will survive. Woodward survived for over 10 years because there's no accountability, governance or leadership at the top end of the biggest yet worst run football club in the UK and thats why we are where we are.
Some great chants at the end, but Glazers will not give. A. Single. Flying. Fuck about songs. We're stuck with them until natural causes.
Kind of feel sorry for Dalot. Speaking as a fellow absolutely shit right full back myself, I also looked disabled playing left back. 🫱🏼🫲🏻
That and also... does anyone watch a match on a Saturday and think cant wait until this evening to see what Martin Keown and Stephanie Horton make of all this?
I admitted last week that I’ve stopped enjoying Match of the Day. And this week’s programme illustrated exactly why.
Just look at the way Mark Chapman opens the show. Flat. Lifeless. Almost uninterested.
Football is about passion, enthusiasm, banter, anger, love, joy and despair. Yet the BBC has somehow managed to package its highlights into a programme almost entirely devoid of emotion.
Chappers, as he’s affectionately known, comes across well on the radio. But on Match of the Day, he looks bored rigid. Like the last person on earth you’d want to sit down with for a conversation about football.
To be fair, Steph Houghton and Martin Keown did a reasonable job. But as somebody pointed out in response to my previous post, where’s the humour? Where’s the fun? Where’s the sheer joy of football?
Everything is so painfully serious. The pundits deliver their analysis within such tight parameters that the whole thing feels sterile.
Bill Shankly famously said football wasn’t a matter of life and death. It was more important than that.
But the real point is that people love football because it makes them feel alive.
Watching Match of the Day these days is like observing a post-mortem conducted by a forensic pathologist who regretted his career choice years ago and is now just counting down the days until he can collect his pension.
Surely, in the post-Lineker era, there must be a better way of presenting football highlights? Give us people who love the game. People who can laugh, joke, argue and get carried away. Give us proper analysis, certainly, but make it feel like the conversations we have with our mates down the pub.
And for those chauvinistic throwbacks who complained about women presenting men’s football, let me say this: of Match of the Day’s three presenters, Chapman is comfortably the worst. Give me Kelly Cates or Gabby Logan any day of the week.
Someone needs to have a word in Chappers’ ear. Tell him to bring some of his radio personality to the television studio.
Because his dry, bored, dead-eyed delivery is sucking the life out of a programme devoted to a sport that should be anything but lifeless.
Football is supposed to be fun. For God’s sake, can somebody tell Match of the Day?
Officials at United are afraid to appoint Conte in case his standards and expectations of the players and those above them are too high.
Was lost amidst all the anger the other night, but that Nico Paz is a player by the way. Although stick him in a United shirt and you just know he'll immediately turn into Donny Van De Beek.
Fabian Hurzeler is just the latest Graham Potter, Roberto DeZerbi type. Amazing how good average managers look at well run football clubs. Also see Brentford and Thomas Frank and Keith Andrews.
🚨🗣️ Fabian Hurzeler on links to Manchester United:
"I’m fully focused on my job here [Brighton]. I’ve got no time to think about these rumours because we play every three days.
I have a lot of respect for Michael Carrick and the job he has done at Manchester United last season. He's a great human being, a great personality, and I really respect him.
There's nothing more to say about that."
People who answer "The Beatles" to this question. Think of your favourite band. I guarantee you they wouldnt answer "The Beatles" to this question. In fact they were most likely influenced by them in some way.
An ad from the Rape Crisis Centre in Ireland about grandparents requiring consent from their grandchildren to hug them. Of course the only people supporting this crap are the pronoun people who incidentally are probably the way they are because of a lack of love, support & hugs.
