Everyone is in a rush to measure. Teachers and coaches need to teach first. This course will help develop physical literacy: ow.ly/yeaY30sjz05 we can then measure once the kids can move.

When we think about contact: it is often collisions with other players we are talking about. But contact with the ground is a big factor as well. @CoachExcelsior shares his approach to helping players survive contact with the ground:

Simple routines give a goal for p.e. gymnastics classes. There doesn't have to be a competition. Think orchestra rather than hunger games.

If you intend on using the stationary bike or jogging laps to warm-up your p.e. classes next week, STOP! You can 'pulse-raise' through skill-based movements that educate, inform and encourage your pupils. Ideas available here: ow.ly/2zKm50I04jO

We all crave for autonomy. Just because adults have to follow a rigid curriculum and work schedule doesn't mean the children have to. The children here are doing their own practice warm-up. Not a stationary bike or mindless lap in sight. We introduce new skills later.

'Can we do pyramids?' Of course you can. It's not in the plan, but it's valuable practice and if that's what keeps then coming back, then why not? Allow the pupils to generate their own plans through doing.
