Will Gordon, who tied for 70th in Asheville, was the only player to fall outside the top 100 in Korn Ferry Tour points on Sunday and miss out on qualifying for the penultimate playoff event in two weeks in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Moving in? Brett White, who jumped from 126th to 99th. The 33-year-old White is almost a decade removed from nearly dying from viral encephalitis, which he contracted while a member of PGA Tour Latinoamerica. He spent three weeks in the hospital and had to relearn basic tasks, including talking and walking. His return to golf came about a year after his hospitalization, and he won the 2019 Nevada Open and 2020 Michigan Open as part of his comeback. He got through Korn Ferry Tour Q-School in 2021 to earn his KFT card for 2022, though he notched just two top-25s in 20 starts to lose his status. He returned to the KFT this season after finishing fifth on the PGA Tour Americas last year, and his T-7 on Sunday in Columbus marked not only his firs top-10 of the season but just his third top-25. By qualifying for the Compliance Solutions Championship, White secures at least conditional KFT status for 2027. The top 60 after that event lock up at least full KFT status and advance to the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in Richmond, Virginia.
