Owensboro, #Kentucky native Hadley Duvall was arguably the face of reproductive rights in the 2023 off-year election.
She received a standing ovation at @KamalaHarris' livestreamed town hall hosted by @Oprah.

This is possibly my favorite thing ever.

"It often feels like we are being backed into a corner because of our values," Savannah Trebuna, director of Kentucky Health Justice Network’s abortion fund, said. "We are not going to concede to this funding crisis."
In June, national organizations announced abrupt cuts to the financial assistance they provide to abortion patients, plunging the entire ecosystem into chaos. Abortion fund leaders told @garnethenderson that things have “never been even close to this bad”

Since July 15, a dozen people have been cited or arrested in Louisville for violating a new KY law banning street camping.
All arrests & citations have come from one LMPD officer.
Some were cited for sleeping on the ground or a bench.

Of course, the only reason this activity is illegal is because the majority party changed the law, quite recently, in anticipation of backlash to their shitty ballot amendment. But sure, pretend the school administrators are nefarious criminals.

Abortion might be legal… in some places, but can you get one without losing a paycheck? Or driving +200 miles? Or have someone who can care for your kids? Or worry about all the logistical hoops to jump through while traveling and having a disability? Legal is just not enough.

We've got to talk about this more: A near 20-point difference in female and male college-going rates. Before we give the excuse, "they prefer trade school," we need to remember trade school in Ky is most likely a KCTCS college. #KYHigherEdMatters

Big love to @AlaniNutrition for the cold drinks at the end of the Pride Parade!
Hey Nicole, Comms Director @ACLUofKY here. The first thing I said when I saw this graphic was "she looks white." As you may know, film in the 60s wasn't created or developed to capture melanated skin. That's the photo - we didn't alter it.

I’m honored for my inaugural poem to hang in the office of this governor whom I admire so much. 300 copies, signed and numbered, were hand-lettered and printed as a collaboration by October Press and Larkspur Press. Of course Gov. Beshear received number one.
