Brandon Hyde may be my last realistic hope
Baldelli was thought to be a front-runner, if not the front-runner. But with three young kids and roots in Florida, Seattle appeared to be a stretch. Not sure where exactly this leaves the Mariners, but they’ve been hoping to have a manager in place in next 7-10 days.

Yup that’s what it looks like

Baldelli the second he’s told he won’t be able to make the lineups:
Rocco Baldelli has withdrawn from the Mariners’ managerial search, citing family considerations at this moment in time, sources tell The Athletic.

I’ll preface this with the disclaimer that this would NEVER EVER happen. But… Please.
Ronald Acuña Jr. could be an interesting name on the trade market if Atlanta decides to move on. Who should trade for him? He has 2 more years of control at $17 million a season.

What’s not good faith? Where in my post did I ever say we need a salary cap?

Institute a salary floor! I’m all for it! Nobody’s outbidding Steve Cohen for a superstar free agent still.

You named literally zero free agents outside of Murakami in that list, whose market collapsed to the point he became affordable to the rest of the market

Maybe read the fucking post and learn some comprehension skills before calling other people a dumbass, moron.

Yet top free agents keep signing with them. I can’t really put my finger on it….

Bro he chose the Mets over the Yankees where he came from after a WORLD SERIES trip. He chose the money. It’s okay to admit it. My point is these superstars are going to get paid ridiculous amounts of money in free agency regardless, and 9 times out of 10, they’re taking the highest bidder. Currently, there are maybe three teams who can go toe-to-toe with each other in offers. 27 teams cannot. There needs to be a fix.

Okay so sub out Seattle for the Pirates. If the Pirates had offered him the most, and the Mets offered slightly less, who does he choose?

I don’t dispute that. They absolutely could spend more. They’re even admitting that by instituting a salary floor that’s double some teams’ current payroll. But again, even if they did, NOBODY is outbidding Steve Cohen on an elite free agent.

Brother, Trevor Siemian is an NFL QB lmao Sorry, it was over two offseasons - that’s right.

Who offered him more?

All in one year, actually! And now they’re looking to fire sale because their payroll is too high. Same with the Padres lol You see the Mets or Dodgers doing that?

“Well the Dodgers aren’t in the World Series this year!” Yes that’s correct, for the first time since 2023. And the entire baseball world was stunned they got knocked out because of just how heavy of favorites they were. Once again, I get it! But come on 🤣🤣
