I held out a sketchbook that had been colored entirely black. when the teacher asked what i had drawn, I told her I had drawn the sea, the sandy beach, starfish, people playing there, and a pod of dolphins leaping out of the water.
Seeing the worry and concern in her expression, I wondered whether I should pretend not to notice or smile innocently and offer to draw it again. But if I tried again, I wouldn't be able to draw the scenes i had imagined.
