Be verified / validated by construction.
The next great "language for agents" should be: - As fast as Rust - As little design space as Go - Have the strictest type/verification system ever written Bend seems like an interesting first effort

The game dev studio I co-founded in 1994 built all of its own tooling (engine, renderer, exporters, etc.) for 15+ yrs before commercial options were mature enough to bet on. Imagine "threatening" to do the same. As if it's a radical new idea.
So I have a question Tim. If you're having an AI code for Unreal Engine what's stopping devs from just using AI to code their own game engine and cut the middle man? Why use your engine and pay you when they can make their own for free? Or is it only theft when it effects you?

Ya know we are just beating ourselves. We had a really physical and emotional game last week to knock off Georgia. LSU winning is just a fluke. (If you read this without the slightest hint of sarcasm 😑)

Always take the high road. Some will take advantage of you. That is THEIR problem.
Another takeaway after three years of building a company is that the returns to just "being a good person", and not acting transactionally, are higher than I expected. There are so many transactional, boring, and at times immoral people in the tech industry that if you act with sustained warmth, authenticity, humor, and integrity, great gifts will be laid before you. White pill.

Layers. Capture everything. Review sessions to develop reusable skills. Iterate on skills to improve processes. Develop scripts to automate mechanisms. LLMs run them, interpret, orchestrate work using them. Roll up your biggest tasks into more sophisticated software. Abstraction.
PRO TOP Do not create Skills with markdown files, you should be creating Skills with deterministic scripts

The real question is “would you in 3 years? 5?”
So, we're mostly not writing code by hand anymore. But, would you hire a SWE that had never hand written code?

This gem of a stat: We are 36-2 all time as the AP No. 1 team in the regular season. The two teams to beat us: Unranked Auburn in 1942 Unranked Auburn today 😒

Today I coined the term “jibberification” for the process that models use to convert a clear, connected explanation into compressed, jargon-heavy language that sounds meaningful but makes the underlying concepts harder to understand.

Your most durable moats are your community and your operating costs. That has always been the case, it’s just more obvious now.

I'm in the top 5% of something!
The top 1% of AI spenders now outspend the bottom 50% combined They spend an average of $903/month, while the median customer spends just $25 More charts in our Top 100 Consumer AI Apps breakdown: a16z.news/p/top-100-consumer…

the fire started in the math department will it burn down the whole world?
Mathematical reasoning will transfer to any area that requires reasoning and building intuition over a complex domain. It might be that AI will not have all the necessary data to make the right conclusions in some cases, but it will be filling in all the necessary holes in data with high sample efficiency, just like humans. Superhuman intelligence is here, and the same model that solved all these problems will be great at all other scientific and reasoning-bound tasks.

“the only generation that knows how computers work” is 30-44? buddy, I was writing assembly language before they were born. your claim is invalidated.
The only generation that knows how computers work is also the most relaxed about AI:

there is literally no end to the appetite for tokens. the more we use, the more we need
actually wild opus 5.5 spun 158 agents after I asked it to make the app feel smoother and more joyous. idea is to fix all the unnecessary rerenders and double down on speed. it's been working for the last few hours

“AI will become our interface to the world.” 💯
We fully open sourced Nautilo because personal AI should be personal. If you agent is just another SaaS app, you can't trust it with your personal and professional lives. A SaaS app is just a surveillance app in sheep's clothing. With Nautilo you own the server, the desktop and mobile apps completely. Trust it completely. Site: nautilo.ai Github: github.com/agentsea/nautilo Why open source all this hard work? Because AI will become our interface to the world. And what we share with AI will be much more personal and much more intimate. That means we have to control the harness or we're in for a dark tomorrow. When someone can shut off your access to intelligence or change the ToS overnight, you're not an owner, you're a serf. Nautilo is open source and MIT licensed. Run your own server. Choose your models. Decide who joins. Inspect the code. Change it. Your family, your company, your community should own the place where their intelligence grows together.

I have long bemoaned the tragic truth: "you can do anything, but not everything." Today it is more true, and more painful than ever.

If you are rational you know that it is very unlikely that the most decisive moment of human history is unfolding before your eyes. This being said, it really looks like it. Godspeed everyone. To the stars!

Theory: countries full of people that benefit from AI as a great leveler are optimistic about it. Those who expect to be competing with more because of that… not so much.
This is so sad for us.
