Thrilled to share that my new paper has been published at @NatureComms @NaturePortfolio. We conducted a genome-wide CRISPR screen in Toxoplasma gondii and identified GRA38, a dense granule protein, as a key regulator of lipid homeostasis in Toxo. nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Ukrainian fencer Yulia Bakastova has defeated a Russian fencer Sophia Velikaya, who also a major in the Russian army) at a tournament in Tbilisi.
Velikaya was a trusted person of Putin at the 2024 "elections" in Russia and has been on Ukrainian sanctions list for her connection with the Russian army.
Despite that, International Fencing Federation allowed Velikaya and 40 other Russian and Belarus athletes to participate in the world championship with a "neutral" status.
Ukrainian Fencing Federation has issued a protest regarding these athletes being allowed to compete.

We show that TgACS3 is responsible for activating and channeling the constant flux of scavenged fatty acids towards parasite lipid storage #lipiddroplets,allowing mobilization of membrane building blocks for parasite division and survival especially under high host nutrient level
