The countdown is on…three weeks until the 2026 Texas Nuclear Summit! And we're proud to welcome @ApolloAtomics as our Headshot Hub Sponsor!
Apollo Atomics, a @ycombinator -backed company rooted in more than 15 years of MIT nuclear research and testing conducted with the @MIT Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering, is developing highly compact pressurized water reactors that reduce traditional plant footprints by an order of magnitude. The company is focused on delivering factory-built systems deployable in under 24 months for data centers and industrial applications.
Thanks to the team at Apollo Atomics, every Summit attendee can walk away with a new, professional headshot. Visit nucleartexas.com to secure your ticket - and new headshot - today!

Congrats! Shrinking the largest component of the existing system by 20x is such a simple yet transformative approach.
Excited to be backing you & Drew!
Today, we are announcing our $31M seed financing at Apollo Atomics.
The $26M equity is led by FCVC with participation from Y Combinator, TeleSoft Partners, Alumni Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners, Duke Capital Partners, Robinhood Ventures, and Nucleation Capital. $5M of equipment financing is provided by Oak Ridge Financial.
Apollo Atomics is the only nuclear company that can deliver high power output nuclear reactors (>80 MW) on a truck. The higher power density is the strongest argument for cost effectiveness and mass manufacturing in the nuclear industry today. We achieve this without relying on exotic/scarce fuel, unqualified materials, or high regulatory uncertainty.
Achieving that goal is a mirage if you don’t build the right company. With Drew Walker, we have assembled an extremely talent dense team with Excellence, Intensity, and Execution at its core. We are running a low power reactor demonstrator within MIT and now building a full scale 1 MW reactor prototype under commercial reactor conditions. We work directly with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to support a commercial deployment in 2028.
Apollo Atomics is not hardware in vacuum, we are building software solutions for autonomous reactor control, licensing support, and reactor modeling to reduce OpEx and deployment timeline.
Deeply grateful to our early investors for supporting our mission when no one else believed particularly Genesis Fund, Arjun Gupta, and New Era Ventures, to our early supporters within Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund Program, TNT, MIT Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering.
Excited to have many brilliant individual investors supporting our mission including Paul Graham, Evan Meagher, CFA, Philip Johnston, Ray Rothrock, Matteo Franceschetti

@ApolloAtomics is joining the AI for Nuclear Energy Consortium to help bring advanced artificial intelligence into the design, licensing, manufacturing, and operation of the next generation of nuclear systems.
Led by @INL and established under the @ENERGY Genesis Mission, the consortium brings together national laboratories, universities, nuclear companies, and technology leaders such as @nvidia and @Microsoft.
For Apollo, this work aligns directly with our mission: combining advanced engineering, modern manufacturing, and digital tools to make nuclear energy faster to deploy, more scalable, and more cost-effective.

I just got an investor update from a nuclear reactor startup that measures their LOIs in gigawatts. That's a new one.

I turned up at the YC office this morning to find @ApolloAtomics installing the primary loop autoclave for their nuclear reactor 😬
It’s the new component that means their SMRs will be 80% smaller than traditional designs.

Some founders don't follow the arc of progress; they bend it through sheer force of will.
Assil is one of them.

Building the modern nuclear company.☢️
.@ApolloAtomics builds the most compact nuclear reactors with the highest uptime and a deployment time of less than 24 months.
Apollo took the pressurized water reactor technology that already powers 80% of the world’s nuclear plants and flipped one part, the steam generator, to make the plant an order of magnitude smaller without compromising power.
Congrats on the launch, @AssilHalimi & Drew!
