Replying to @havadex
It’s honestly disappointing to see a country with such an ancient and rich civilisation like Iran wasting its potential on interfering in people’s lives, oppressing women, and leaving no room for different lifestyles. What a tragic waste of history and culture.

If she reports immediately, she's accused of trying to ruin a famous man's career.
If she waits, she's accused of inventing it years later.
If she tells nobody, she's accused of having no corroboration.
If she tells friends, she's accused of spreading rumours.
If she continues working in the same industry, she's accused of not being sufficiently traumatised.
If she leaves the industry, she's accused of being bitter about her failed career.
If she liked the man, she's accused of regretting consensual sex.
And if she disliked him, she's accused of having a grudge.
You CANNOT win.

After witnessing the bravery of the women at the Russell Brand trial - and seeing what the cross examination was like - wanted to repost this from 2023 about why women might decide not to report rape
I don’t know what happened with Russell Brand. He denies criminality.
But I DO understand why women might not report rape to the police
My take on tonight’s #PoliticsHub 👇

I haven't been on this site for a bit.
But I haven't seen anyone share the photo the New Statesman staff staged in 2013 of Russell Brand as Christ, and themselves as his disciples. It seems to have been scrubbed from the web.
It made me angry then and it makes me angry now.
Russell Brand, convicted of rape, now likely to face more allegations, says UK police chief reut.rs/4it2BRI
Russell Brand the rapist was prosecuted in accordance with and under UK law and found guilty. This law does not apply anywhere else. Perhaps Levi needs to look up the rape laws in his own country to determine his next moves

so, this woman's logic is that if she was not raped, no one possibly could have been raped. Fortunately, a jury has found the rapist Russell Brand guilty, so he is forever a rapist. I really don't think his wife and kids will want much to do with him once that sinks in
A wife is without her husband. Three children are without their Dad. Yet everyone thinks the real victim in this, is a drunk groupie, who was cheating on her boyfriend. Someone who has anonymity for life and will probably get a financial payout.
I don’t care what anyone calls me. I have a unique perspective on this as someone who had a romantic encounter with Russell in the naughties and then collaborated with him on a political campaign in 2014.
If this drunk groupie thought he was a predator, why would she stand by and watch him sleep with 1000s more women. Didn’t she care about those women?
It’s not true that women in the comedy industry warned each other about Russell. No-one warned me and it could not have been more obvious that I was connected to him.
Just because I am a woman, doesn’t mean I should "believe all women."
I would be more likely to believe women who report criminals to the POLICE. Not the media, decades later.
I believe in the right to a fair trial. Convince me it was fair!
Another rapist protector. You have to wonder why.

this is how presidential veto works: sbs.com.au/news/article/dona…
“Why is this person allowed to make programmes on @bbc” @ClarkeMicah asked, very sensibly, years ago - when the BBC delighted in Brand’s crudeness & vulgarity, enabling & promoting Brand & revelling in shocking their audience with his increasingly decadent antics. Only when Brand changed political sides did anyone in authority notice Brand’s depravity. Instead of discouraging him & telling him to stop behaving revoltingly, until then they gave him fame & egged him on.
