MoMA is looking for Associate Curator/Curator of Architecture & Design. I'm looking for my kindred spirit in modern/historical design. Please send news far and wide––or near and narrow. Apply by June 11 buff.ly/3ofIb0E @MuseumModernArt (poster by Michael English, 1967)
Yikeroonies!!! (I don't mean that in a good way.) On the other hand, building a box of tall placeless boxes around Madison Square Garden will make it look better - nostalgic, even (I know - that's a stretch).

This wins my vote as tweet of the day (worthy of embroidering on a pillow, even...).

Reading a book on the train is a tale-old tradition many BART riders partake in.
To encourage reading for those even without a book, BART is piloting touchless @ShortEdition_EN Short Story Dispensers, which print out short stories, at 4 BART stations.
Awesomely fabuloso! I've spent 18 years for the perfect chair for my fab mid-century dining room table - Ikea Pajala is it - but likely the most difficult to find...sigh. Thx @DianaBudds & @aarieff !

Happy Birthday Ada - what a great way to celebrate!!! Thx @HawthorneCDOLA & @cmonstah !
Tomorrow would have been the 100th birthday of the great architecture critic Ada Louise Huxtable. To celebrate, @cmonstah & I have rounded up a group to read at 2pm PDT from some of her best pieces--& in support of two fantastic orgs, Critical Minded & New Architecture Writers.
Yikeroonies!!! (Let the finger-pointing begin...)

Will wonders never cease! County called this morning asking if we'd be interested in getting vaccinated - they had app'ts. open this afternoon & tomorrow. At 2:15 today, George & I got the J&J one-time-only "jab" (as the Brits call it). YAY!!! Light at the end of a long tunnel...
Hear! Hear! Way to go, @HawthorneCDOLA !
Here’s a sign that @HawthorneCDOLA is having a real impact as LA’s chief design officer. This project is incredibly promising, with the potential to be a national model for how to tackle a major social and planning problem while keeping the design level high.
Such sad news. A marvelous architect, indeed. Time with him was always joyous - thx @paulgoldberger - the perfect word I've been looking for - for a long time.
Very sad news indeed. He was a marvelous architect, a cultivated and civilized man, and a joy to spend time with. He never doubted that both history and modernism mattered, and his work bridged the gap between them. washingtonpost.com/local/obi…
