“Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit.” Luke 12:35
Jesus asks his disciples to stay awake and ready, attentive to his presence even when they do not know when he will come. This is not a call to live in fear, but to keep our hearts open: ready to welcome Christ in prayer, in one another and in the needs of the day.
Then comes the surprise: the master sits his servants down and serves them. Christ responds to our faithfulness with generous love.
Lord, keep our lamps burning and our hearts ready to welcome you.

“Life is not made secure by what we own.”
In today’s Gospel, Jesus asks us to look beyond the things we gather and store. The rich man’s harvest is abundant, but his plans leave no room for God or for others. His barns grow larger, while his life remains closed in on itself.
To be “rich in the sight of God” is to receive what we have with gratitude and to let it become a gift: shared in generosity, care and love. What we treasure is seen in how we live today.

Irish priest Fr Willie Doyle, who was killed in World War I while trying to help injured and dying soldiers, has moved another step towards potential sainthood rte.ie/news/ireland/2026/101…
Reflecting on the cause for sainthood of Fr Willie Doyle @jshocds @dioceseofmeath @CatholicBishops @theway_ie
Congratulations to @jshocds Fr Hogan, postulator of the diocesan stage in the cause for sainthood of Fr Willie Doyle, closed today at Christ the King Cathedral , Mullingar. Very well done to his excellent team all concerned with this graced endeavour.
All packed up in brown parcels, duly signed and sealed, the Cause now proceeds to Rome. Let us continue to support Fr Willie’s journey to sainthood with our prayers.

A wonderful ceremony this evening in Christ the King Cathedral, Mullingar, as the Diocesan Process of Fr Willie’s Cause was closed. A large crowd attended, as did many bishops, incl our Primate @ArchbishopEamon, priests, military personnel & members of Willie’s family. The British Ambassador sent a representative. Thanks to all who made the ceremony so memorable. And to Bishop Tom Deenihan for his support & generosity.
So the Cause now goes to Rome. I am no longer Willie’s Postulator, Fr Pascual Cebollada SJ has agreed to serve the @FrWillieDoyle for the Roman Process, so please keep him in your prayers. I will, of course, be here to help him.
My next task for Willie is to write the Positio, the formal biography & thesis on his virtues which will be submitted to the Dicastery & will be examined by the historical & theological consultors who will examine Willie’s Cause.
My postulation work is not over: I am Postulator to two other Causes now, so I have to prepare them for their Diocesan processes. More on them later.
Thank you, friends, for your prayers, support & kindness.

One day to go to the Closing Session of the Diocesan phase of Fr Willie Doyle’s Cause. As it is Saturday, Our Lady’s day, I’m sharing a photo of Fr Willie’s rosary (with his Sacred Heart badge). Willie’s love for Our Lady was profound. He entrusted his whole life, his sufferings & even his death to her, as an Oblation unto martyrdom.
