"Our time calls us, urges us, obliges us, to gaze on the Lord and to immerse ourselves in humble and devout meditation on the mystery of the supreme power of Christ himself....The absolute, and yet sweet and gentle, power of the Lord responds to the whole depths of the human person, to his loftiest aspirations of intellect, will and heart. It does not speak the language of force, but expresses itself in charity and truth....Brothers and sisters, do not be afraid to welcome Christ and accept his power." Pope St. John Paul II, pray for us. vatican.va/roman_curia/congr…

Today the faithful of our archdiocese come together for the annual Rosary Rally, celebrating 250 years since the founding of Mission Dolores and the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. The faithful are carrying our prayers through the streets of San Francisco, placing them in the hands of our Blessed Mother. I unite my prayers with all those gathered, asking Mary to draw our families, our city, and our world closer to her Son.

“This divine heart is an abyss of all blessings, and into it the poor should submerge all their needs. It is an abyss of joy in which all of us can immerse our sorrows. It is an abyss of lowliness to counteract our foolishness, an abyss of mercy for the wretched, an abyss of love to meet our every need.” St. Margaret Mary, pray for us.

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint! He is a powerful witness to our youth that holiness is found in ordinary life. Led by his deep love for the Eucharist and Our Lady, he brought family, friends, and online followers closer to Christ. May his example inspire our young people to center their lives on Jesus and use their unique gifts to lead others to Him. St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us.

We join Catholics around the world in praying for Pope Leo XIV. May God protect him in his surgery and guide the medical team taking care of him.
Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.
