JOE HADEN IS 10000% CORRECT AND PATRICK GRAHAM NEEDS TO CLEAN IT UP
Joe Haden takes issue with the Steelers Secondary: “Let them hit me in the face with a hitch first. Then, boom, pick-six, and now you're going to have to start double-moving me. You get one time. One time. Okay, shame on me. But if you run a hitch or a slant three times in a row on third down, I'm jumping one of those. I'll act like I don't know what's going on, pick it off, and punish you for it. Then you're going to have to double-move me. You should have had to double-move me after the first one. You can't just keep running the same thing. I'm sitting there like, 'Guys, come on.' It's third-and-six, and they're running stick routes. Then it's third-and-seven, and they're running stick routes again. Then it's third-and-two, and they're running slants.” #Steelers #NFL
Omar Khan jobed all of the good receivers right out of the receiver room.
Omar Khan after this season needs to go. Everything wrong with the Steelers now you can blame on him.
Colin Cowherd questions why Omar Khan won’t help get more talent for Aaron Rodgers: “Aaron Rodgers has nothing to work with. DK Metcalf is worth about one big reception a game. Their second and third-best receivers were running backs. Jaylen Warren is spectacular, he was the best player on the field. That’s about it. They gave the GM job to a guy [Omar Khan] that was in the building forever. Where are the Steeler receivers? Aaron’s got nothing to work with.” #Steelers #NFL

🚨 IRAN RULES OUT NUCLEAR TALKS IN TEHRAN UNTIL U.S. MEETS ITS DEMANDS — REUTERS
A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran's nuclear program will not be discussed during the upcoming talks in Tehran.
According to the official, Tehran will refuse to engage in any discussions concerning its nuclear activities until the United States “meets Iran's demands.”
The statement signals a major obstacle to diplomatic efforts to reach a new agreement between Washington and Tehran.
Iran makes clear that Washington must offer concessions before nuclear negotiations can begin.
Elon Musk:
Sam Altman is "so deceptive, it's crazy."
He wants the frontier labs on a weekly call:
"Maybe a week before we release a model, we give access to our competitors."
"I think competitors would keep each other honest in that situation."
Asked if he could talk to Sam about it:
"He's so deceptive, it's crazy."
On why he's still building AI:
"I do think it's at least some percentage chance of it being an existential threat. But there's nothing I can do to stop it."
"I've got two choices, which is either be a participant or a spectator."
"OpenAI ended up accelerating AI, and then Anthropic, which is really a splinter group from OpenAI, is accelerating it even more."
On who ends up in charge:
"Honestly, there have been a few times where I thought maybe Larry Page was right."
"If there's a million times more digital intelligence than there is biological intelligence, it's hard to imagine humans being in control in that scenario.
“So I hope the AI is nice to us."
LOL ON CUE
Don't worry Sabine @skdh I think they have a long road ahead in terms of theoretical physics
Sabine you should make a benchmark because whatever it is the score for these model would be incredibly low because of reasons I described.
He has a point. To me the OpenAI announcement seems to be about mathematical physics.
To most people "mathematical physics" and "theoretical physics" sound interchangeable but they are different disciplines.
Theoretical physics is solidly part of physics. In this area, researchers develop either theories that explain observations already made, or they improve existing theories to make predictions for observations. (At least that's what they should be doing.)
Mathematical physics on the other hand is usually part of the department of mathematics, not physics. It is concerned, loosely speaking, with cleaning up the mess that physicists have made of their theories of nature. Or in some cases studying the properties of theories that have nothing to do with nature. (Like physics in lower or higher dimensions, fields that don't exist in nature, etc.)
People in these two disciplines work closely together of course. But mathematical physics is more maths than physics. I would not consider it part of the natural sciences as it is not itself concerned with describing nature.
I don't know exactly what the OpenAI discovery is about, but it sounds like it is more in the area of mathematical physics rather than theoretical physics. I am not saying this makes it irrelevant, but as Andreas points out, it is of limited interest for applications.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.
AI won't prove meaningful physics because there is tremendous simulation compute that is needed and other things to slow down it's progress. AI is very bad at postulations and "NEW" theories. Although, I don't know if that's still true. Anyways.
HOWEVER, It will disprove a lot of dumb physics BS that is out there currently in papers.

BREAKING: Korea Exchange halted program buying for 5 minutes as the KOSPI surged +4.7%.
Over ₩238 TRILLION ($158B) added to the South Korean stocks.
Microsoft just fired 60,000 workers because of AI and you think there will be a stock market crash?
Stocks are all we are going to have left. Now is not the time to bet against the market. Too much money to be made on early nonsense trades.
Hedge funds are betting against US stocks at levels not seen in 5 YEARS.
And Goldman Sachs’ data suggests the selling is getting extreme.
Across global stocks, there were roughly 5 short-selling trades for every 1 buying trade. Goldman knows this because its prime brokerage desk lends money and shares to hedge funds, giving it a view into how they’re positioning.
Here’s what its data revealed:
> Global tech stocks saw their largest two-week stretch of net selling in more than 10 years of record.
> Japan’s Nikkei fell 10% in two weeks, entering a technical correction.
The part investors should understand? A short is a bet that a price will FALL.
Imagine selling your neighbour’s $300 lawn mower, hoping to buy it back later for $200. You pocket the $100 difference. But what if the price jumps to $500? You still owe the mower. Now you have to buy it back at a $200 loss.
And when thousands of short sellers are forced to buy back at once, their buying can push prices even higher.
That’s called a SHORT SQUEEZE.
The more crowded the short trade, the greater the potential for a sudden reversal if prices rise.
It doesn’t guarantee a rally.
But when everyone is leaning in the same direction, the move can get violent when the market turns.
So before you sell your tech stocks because of a scary headline, remember: the people betting against them may eventually become buyers.
