I might make a vid on the topic at some point, kinda busy with work and other stuff. But wanted give my 2 cents on all this Fatal Fury stuff and the DLC really quick. So lets start things off with this....You can have guest character fatigue while ALSO enjoy the characters we've gotten and be appreciative. Theyre not mutually exclusive. The problem I'm seeing is the 2 loudest sides are extremes of the argument. You either completely hate the seasons and think the game is becoming Fortnite and the sanctity of Fatal Fury is being ruined and anyone that likes these characters arent "real fans". Over exaggeration. Or.... You love everything about the game and feel that anyone that has any critique of the DLC these past seasons are hating, unappreciative, dont care about the franchise, dont want new fans to get into the series or arent "real fans". Also exaggeration. Both sides sound silly/dramatic and I say that with having folks of both spectrums follow me and vice versa, so I see constantly the opposing sides. The problem is more so how everything has gone about with say Ginnaci & CR7 being apart of the roster which put a bad taste in folks mouth to begin with. Especially when theres characters people feel should've been base roster rather than DLC but were booted out because of the 2 i mentioned earlier... Tact that on with the guest characters as well and people frustration grows with each guest being seen as another slot taken from a legacy character. Personally I have no issues with the guest characters, (minus the IRL ones), its just again how things have gone about them being added is all. For me I'd be ok if it was long gaps between, so say 1 every other season, or just 1 per season. I'd prefer not to have any but at the end of the day its a business and we have to learn to remove the fighting game fan part of our brain from the business side. One side feels that not enough is being done for the core audience and feel that SNK is reaching for straws by adding these guests to cater to an audience that doesnt care about Fatal Fury and neglecting the roster of legacy characters, while the other side feels that its awesome that while giving fans classic characters, theyre also reaching beyond just SNK fanbase but anime as well. Hence why we have this divide going on. I think why Reina went over so well as a guest character is because she's from a fighting game franchise, unlike say the Tokyo Revengers characters. Plus the history already with Tekken and SNK characters crossing over from Geese appearing in T7 also makes sense. Ken and chun were a given also with the guest character stuff that happened in SF6 with Terry & Mai so we saw that coming in hindsight. Thats why I made a vid saying that I honestly wasnt hyped or excited for her but hope it gets folks who do like her into the game, and then right after I admitted in another vid that the new teaser made me interested in her. Now say these guests were all from other fighting games, would the complaints still happen? Hell yeah, people want their classic characters and theres nothing wrong with that. But people there are folks that enjoy these anime guests like Kenshiro and the tokyo revengers duo and theres nothing wrong with that either. Whether you're for or against these guest characters, doesnt make you anymore of a fan of the Fatal Fury franchise then the next person. And thats something I'm seeing be lost in the sauce with all this back and forth bickering from both sides. 13 characters. Thats how many characters we are getting within a single year, most fighting games are lucky if they get 4, let alone even 5/6. If theres one thing that needs reminding is that SNK is indeed working hard on these releases. By no means are they perfect, but it needs to be said. Feel how you may. Like it, hate it, support it, dont support it. One thing is for sure though and thats dont get too big headed thinking youre any better than the next for your opinion. You can be appreciative, and still critical. You can be critical but still appreciative. We all enjoy Fatal Fury, hell its the reason we're talking about it and Im glad to see everyone giving their 2 cents on it. I rather it be takes from people within the community then folks that never participate unless its beneficial. Plus it could could always be worse, SNK could give us slightly changed hues of character colors and call it costumes....🙂

A glimpse of my frustration yesterday after losing my final match and finishing 9th at EVO France 2026. Started in Round 3 Losers early and fought my way through the bracket until the very last game for Top 8. It hurts to come this close, especially when you’re fighting for a medal but that’s part of the journey.
