Probably not technically illegal but very questionable use of what seems to be city resources for Bass less than a week before the election (and I've definitely received texts that also seem to be from the mayor's office and not from her campaign before from that number)

all sold Angelenos out to the police, voting for mass surveillance, with ALPR to Axon.
There should be political consequences. @stoplapdspying
It would be awesome if Metro would be fareless. Karen Bass has no intention of actually doing that though and has said NOTHING as riders are now being subjected to violent fare checks by Metro DPS, including on the A and G Lines
Riders on the G Line are being harassed at North Hollywood by Metro DPS when they board at Sepulveda or Van Nuys when the onboard tap validators are broken (and they frequently are.) There are no validators at Sepulveda or Van Nuys due to construction
Big day for @UnrigLA

LAPD still contracts with, and patrols parts of, Metro so it’s hard to argue this is not within the jurisdiction of an item re: the board chair…
Replying to @KarenBassLA
Bass repeatedly is taking a statement from Raman about Daryl Gates (which was badly worded and Raman has apologized for it) out of context. Now here's how Bass reacted at today's Metro Board meeting when I brought up how her donor the LAPPL and her police chief celebrate Gates
You can let the Metro Board know about how ridiculous this all is TODAY at 10 AM at Metro HQ or by calling 888-978-8818 and using the access code 5647249# (7292892# if you need a Spanish translator)
Additional thread with some more thoughts
Its been a few hours now and I'm still just so shaken and frustrated by what I experienced this morning. Once again, I carry a fully loaded tap card that I tap whenever the validator on buses is working and not blocked off by the driver, and would have tapped if able (thread)
Especially since fare enforcement can turn deadly, like when LBPD murdered Cesar Rodriguez on Metro over the fare
