Be sure to support and protect all exposed utilities to protect them from damage. Also, pulling on an exposed underground utility can cause "tension damage" far beyond the excavation site, potentially leading to serious injuries, costly repairs, and vital service disruptions.
Excavators: Do not use any mechanized equipment within 24-inches of utility marks. If digging within 24-inches of any mark, Arizona law requires excavators to manually identify the location of the marked underground utility by excavating with hand tools.
