LEARNS is a resounding success. Of all the issues we can consider, this is the most important for my family. Thousands of us will defend it vehemently because it is driving tangible results where it matters across all avenues of education. This isn't about "vouchers". This is about an entire universe of data that proves education is improving faster than we could have ever anticipated.
"Imagine if we had taken the $400 million wasted on vouchers and added it to the $600 million state surplus. We could have had $1 billion for a Marshall Plan for rural Arkansas." Outstanding column from Rex Nelson. KMI

Turnout is easing, but the state only needs ~32,700/day to hit 500K. 🧵
"Your universe has no meaning to them."
🚨 BREAKING: Outrage erupts after man named "Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano" took a SLEDGEHAMMER to the historic Iwo Jima statue at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia and knocked the head off one of the Marines
HE LITERALLY BEHEADED IT.
Dig into his history and find out if he's an illegal! Should be deported regardless!
Police caught Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27, of Stafford, in the act around 10 PM Wednesday. They say the damage runs into the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars
The 9-foot limestone statue was carved by Felix de Weldon, the same sculptor behind the famous Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington. It honors the Marines who raised the flag over Iwo Jima 🙏🏻
He's charged with felony destruction of property, trespassing, and felony injury to a monument, and he's being held without bond.
Throw the book at him 😡

Arkansas Times is mad that our Governor visits communities?
Are they state secrets? Apparently. Gov. Sanders keeps making Capital for a Day trips on the state's dime -- and during campaign season -- but they won't say what the cost is.

Issue 3 would drive an economic boon for our state. It kills me to see a conservative outlet be so vehemently against this, especially considering it opens new avenues of investment without having to raise taxes to improve critical infrastructure or quality of life.
We've been fighting with one hand tied behind our back while 48 other states exercise similar programs.
NEW: Will Issue 3 allow Arkansas to compete economically with Texas?
Proponents of Issue 3 argue that Arkansas needs such “tools” to compete with its neighbor. They point to Texarkana, claiming the Texas side outperforms the Arkansas side because of local Chapter 380 tools.
Census data show residents on both sides of the state line have similar economic circumstances. The clear difference is commercial activity. Is that driven by local, targeted incentives, or by the permanent statewide business environment?
Texas has no corporate income tax. Arkansas taxes corporate income at 4.3%. And even with the Arkansas-side exemption from state income tax, the total tax burden on the Arkansas side of Texarkana is 26.1% higher than on the Texas side.
As it turns out, Texas’s “tools” for attracting businesses are the same: lower taxes.
Issue 3 is very different. It would authorize districts that can levy taxes or assessments and issue bonds outside ordinary constitutional debt limits, with tax rates set by an appointed board.

I wouldn't call it a Red Wave, but the average core demographic Republican rarely has time for a poll. I've missed several of them the last 4 months.
I'm focused on my career, wife, three kids, several civic organizations, coaching youth sports, and my grandmother who thinks I'm her mechanic.

Since Republicans have taken over state government 12 years ago:
•Cut the top state income tax rate from 7% to 3.7%
•Eliminated the state grocery tax
•Lowered the sales tax on used cars
•Increased the homestead tax credit (now $675)
•Raised minimum teacher pay from $36,000 to $50,000
•Expanded real school choice with Education Freedom Accounts for every family
These are actual policies that lower costs and give families more options. All while fully funding government and services. Democrats have nothing to offer but attacks.

Considering our test scores are going up, our GDP is going up, and our revenues are at record levels, I’m going to say No. But thanks for your input. #arpx #arleg
Is Arkansas committing educational and economic suicide? Vouchers went largely to families already in private and home schools. The state did not create new choices, it just started paying for old ones. KMI

🚨Arkansas, in all sincerity, this is a lie. The truth is @hallieshoffner just forced a nonprofit for adults with developmental disabilities to relocate a meeting so their clients wouldn’t be exposed to a political protest. She has embarrassed herself and our community.
Here’s what actually happened today:
MARVA Workshop (Mid-Arkansas River Valley Abilities Workshop) had a working meeting with the U.S. Department of Labor to discuss services, jobs, and support for the adults with developmental disabilities they serve. Senator Tom Cotton helped make the meeting happen. This was not a campaign event.
Shoffner was likely tipped off and showed up with protesters at the same time and place as this meeting.
However, MARVA staff learned of this plot in advance and moved the meeting to a more secure location specifically so their staff and the adults in their care wouldn’t be put in the middle of a campaign protest.
Despite Hallie’s best efforts to disrupt the event, the meeting still happened as planned. A productive discussion took place that was focused on supporting vulnerable members of our community.
While Cotton was doing the actual work of a senator, the Shoffner campaign turned it into a circus and forced a nonprofit to scramble to protect the people they serve.
Hallie, you owe this community, especially MARVA Workshop, a huge apology for this embarrassing behavior.
🚨NFA is dead. Paid my @GunOwners membership. You should too. This is a huge win for the Second Amendment.
