My favorite submissions from this contest. Content that effectively and creatively conveys the privacy benefits of FCMP++ on Monero. #FCMPcontest Thanks to everyone who participated!
FCMP++ Meme-Design Contest - Tell the story of Full Chain Membership Proofs in the medium of your choice, and win $50 in XMR if your submission is the best. Here is my submission to begin. A movie poster. Surely you can beat me. :) Here are the rules: - Create your meme/design/video/audio/etc - Submit it through Arkfile.net - create a free account, upload it, create a share link, DM the share link to me with the password - Submissions must be received by next Monday, Oct 19th at 15:00 UTC - I will sort through submissions and filter out any that are totally off-topic or NSFW - I will post them here throughout the week as I receive them - I will pick a top 3-5 submissions to present to the community, which will vote with likes and retweets - Community's most liked/retweeted candidate will be the winner - Winner can then DM me their monero address and I will send it. I would ask that the winner confirm on X they received their prize too. :) Have fun!

Guess I learned my lesson. Never run a meme/design contest where the winner is determined merely by likes/reposts..! #FCMPcontest There were some good entries in the mix though, which was nice!

(None of the top 7 accounts have EVER tweeted anything about monero or privacy, sadly... Maybe today is a good day for them to start!) I would also like to offer $10 in free credits and a bump to 10 GB storage cap on arkfile.net, to any and all of the 14 entrants in the contest. (Just DM with your username and I will apply it for you.) Thank you all for participating and engaging and bringing your creativity to the problem of how to best promote FCMP++/Monero. #FCMPcontest

A simple way I’ve been separating myself from the competition (based on client feedback), and it costs me nothing. Do what you say you’re going to do. Follow through. Yes, it can be inconvenient because life doesn’t always turn out as planned, but the extra effort compounds. I feel like I’m only now receiving many of the benefits of things I did 3 years ago. Prospects reaching out. Clients referring me. Basically, relationships turning into business years later. I guess the other lesson is that people don’t forget when you come through for them. Good to see.

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

‼️ BREAKING: Two leaked remote code execution flaws in PHP are real, watchTowr confirms. PHP will ship fixes for two critical flaws, both rated CVSS 9.2, on Wednesday 21 October at 14:00 UTC, a day before the embargo was due to lift. CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 first surfaced in a Hacker News post whose author admitted having no evidence beyond "source: trust me, bro". Kevin Beaumont flagged the leak, and watchTowr confirmed it two hours later. PHP says it may release sooner if details go public or exploitation appears. It has not named the CVEs or the affected versions.

1/ Today we’re unveiling Bombadil, @electricplantco's foundation model that reads the electrical signals of living plants and turns them into a continuous view of their physiology. Trained on 7M+ hours of plant electrical signal across 125+ species. That makes Bombadil the most species-diverse model of directly recorded electrical biosignals in existence. The animal equivalent would be one model that reads the brainwaves of blue whales, horseshoe crabs and fruit flies.

In the end, we all win if we get FCMP++. In the meantime, we spread awareness of it so that others will be ready to take part in this great bounty. It is a veritable cornucopia of privacy goodness!

At Devuan, we're not driven by profit or marketing. We recognize the achievements of other communities through evidence, not hype. That's why we salute @OpenBSD on its 8.0 release: an outstanding community effort putting users' security first.
Welcome to the world @OpenBSD 8.0 ! considering how AI-slop coding has taken over the Linux kernel, recent Ubuntu derive into consumer-grade and security flaws since the systemd avalanche, OpenBSD is my top choice for mission critical headless servers.
