It's time you meet the real Dhurandhars of India. The ones building for a battlefield where the threat can be cheap, autonomous and almost impossible to see coming. @ArmoryShield is developing AI-enabled counter-drone systems designed to detect, track and neutralise rogue drones — building the technology India needs to defend its skies in a rapidly changing world. Amardeep Singh, Founder of Armory, breaks it down with Shubhangi Mishra how counter-drone systems work, why traditional defence systems struggle against smaller drones, and what it takes to build this technology indigenously in India. This is the kind of ambition fueling India's New Tech Order. Watch the full episode 👇 Want to meet the founders building India's frontier tech, in person? Drones are terrifying. They literally scream as they approach you, like an Aztec death whistle. I experienced this firsthand during a live demonstration in Hyderabad recently (vid coming soon). "But if you can hear them coming, why don't you just take aim and knock them out of the sky?" These drones are tiny and ridiculously fast. Their payloads are small but lethal. Even the world's best sharpshooter has no chance of hitting one. It's like trying to hit a hummingbird with darts. Net-based systems are also useless. By the time the net deploys and is airborne, the drone is somewhere else. This is why companies like Armory are so important. They're building an invisible shield for Indian soldiers. The only way to defend against drones is continuous multi-threat monitoring and long-range detection, paired with precision jamming. Armory is building the best C-UAS in India. That's why the Ministry of Defence placed a ₹100 crore order for their SURGE system in May. Can't wait to visit their manufacturing facility in Gurugram soon.

Defence tech startup @ArmoryShield has secured a ₹100 Cr ($10.5 Mn) order from the defence ministry for its AI-powered counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS), SURGE.👇 Under the agreement, the company will manufacture and deploy SURGE systems for Indian forces. The platform leverages its proprietary ‘Samaritan OS’ to detect, track, and neutralise rogue drones by scanning environments at high frequency and continuously learning new RF signatures to strengthen its threat library. Following the order, Armory plans to scale its manufacturing capacity, expand hiring, enhance its product portfolio, and strengthen its R&D centre in Manesar. Founded in 2024 by Amardeep Singh (@singhamardeep), Armory develops AI-enabled C-UAS solutions designed to detect and counter rogue drones, with systems built using continuous user feedback to address real-world operational conditions. 🔗 Read the full article here: 4-2.co/4wd677w #Inc42 #news #Startups #Startupfundings #Defencetech

Sovereign Defence. Nothing less. We did not get here by talking. We got here because a small team burnt the midnight oil bent over oscilloscopes, RF benches, soldering stations, and FPGA toolchains, building things from first principles when it would have been easier to import them. This contract matters but what it represents matters more: that Sovereign Defence capability is not a slide in a deck anymore. It is a deliverable, on a PO, with a delivery schedule. This changes nothing about how we work tomorrow morning. The next system still has to be designed, debugged, qualified, shipped. To the early investors who wrote cheques on conviction, before defence in India was a fashionable thesis, and who understood that this work does not move on consumer timelines - a big thank you! If you build things on hard mode, if you want to contribute to building Sovereign Defence, we are hiring across the stack. India has imported defence tech for decades. We have a real opportunity to change that .. to become truly self-reliant. We should not be making the mistake of inviting foreign players in when Indian startups and industry are fighting hard to make a mark globally. Make in India in defence means nothing if the IP isn't Indian.
A productive interaction with a delegation led by Mr. Brian Schimpf, Co-Founder & CEO of @AndurilTech. Discussed avenues to advance defence innovation and deepen technology partnerships, with a focus on expanding Anduril’s footprint in India under the Make in India initiative.

Same drone. Very different consequences. From wedding videos to places it should never reach. A shift that happens faster than we’re prepared for!

Today marks 2 years of Armory! Really intense phase but I haven’t felt more alive in a decade. Hard problems. High stakes. Random curveballs. And a race against time. My first stint with defence was incomplete & I am back to see it through this time. This is my homecoming!

Last night was very special. Thanks to the 100+ industry peers who joined us. The feedback has been insanely good. From the guy building India’s truly homegrown AI-powered counter-drone systems, our answer to Anduril.. To the three Musketeers from Surat changing investing for a segment of 50 million with GenAI To the founders catalyzing India’s EV transition by 6x-ing driver incomes To the startup riding the tsunami of voice AI in India, targeting 50 billion calls To our own former intern now building AI agents to go after the $100bn in SAP services spend To the lads solving access management in an agentic world, winning accounts against CyberArk ($25 bn acquisition last week) To the best team in India when it comes to enabling B2B quick commerce for the still-expanding kirana market To the founders who have cracked a 10x better experience to fix MSK health for the urban anxious We’re biased - but I am so incredibly proud of the 8 startups that shared their life and business stories at the @AntlerIndia Showcase yesterday With @telljeeves @GowriShankarNag & team

A $250 drone can destroy tanks or aircrafts worth millions of dollars. India faced 500+ rogue drone incidents last year. Our latest investment: @ArmoryShield - because 100% indigenously built, counter-drone capabilities will become central to 🇮🇳 defence needs. When we @AntlerIndia committed to backing Armory a few months back, we didn't foresee that recent geopolitical events (Ukraine-Russia / Hamas-Israel / terrorist attacks on India) would bring the need for counter-drone security for India into the spotlight. Anti-drone security is no longer optional. It’s the new perimeter. And we now know India shouldn't rely on imported defence. We need something 100% indigenously built. Excited to be among the first believers in the Armory team led by @singhamardeep (earlier part of the core team that built @ideaforge_tech, IPO in 2023). In Armory, we see a team deeply committed to first-principles thinking and strong convictions to do the right things in the right way. Glad to do this with good friends @ashish__taneja @growXventures @a1purva @ultasawaal cc: @GowriShankarNag @telljeeves @AntlerGlobal bwdisrupt.com/article/defenc…
