Last weekend I visited the Louis Armstrong House museum in Corona, Queens, where he lived with his wife Lucille for nearly 30 years.
What a gift to walk through a home where so much joy, genius and soul lived on!

I kicked off Black History Month in Corona at the home of Louis Armstrong, who lived in our city for more than 30 years. Walking through his house and hearing how much New York meant to him was a powerful reminder of what this city owes to Black artists and culture.
At a time when Black history is being erased, places like the Louis Armstrong House matter more than ever. That’s why I’m proud to partner with @ArmstrongHouse to offer free admission to all visitors on Saturday, February 7th.
