The Sale of the Eternal Pink Diamond
The Eternal Pink, a breathtaking 10.57-carat Fancy Vivid Purplish Pink diamond, recently captured the spotlight at Sotheby's "Magnificent Jewels" auction. With its Internally Flawless clarity and the highest possible color grade of "Fancy Vivid," this diamond is truly one of a kind. @Sothebys claims The Eternal Pink is the most vivid purplish-pink diamond ever to come to market.
"This color is the most beautiful and concentrated shade of pink in diamonds that I have ever seen," commented Quig Bruning, Sotheby's head of jewelry for the Americas. The purple modifier creates a vibrant feminine hue, highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
The Eternal Pink also set records for its valuation, with the highest price-per-carat estimate ever placed on any diamond or gemstone at auction—$3.31 million per carat. However, it will have to surpass the 11.15-carat "Williamson Pink Star," which sold for $5.2 million per carat ($57.7 million total) at Sotheby's Hong Kong in October 2022, and the "CTF Pink Star," a 59.6-carat pink diamond that fetched $71.2 million in 2017, to claim the top spot.
Pink diamonds are increasingly rare following the closure of Rio Tinto's Argyle mine in 2020, which had been the primary source of high-quality pink gems.

Today we had the final Demo Day of the web3 Growth Camp 2. The founders brought their A-game, delivering pitches confidently and passionately, demonstrating the potential of their projects.
