Better data matters most when it leads to earlier action.
Strengthening our ability to anticipate mobility and displacement can help governments, communities and humanitarian partners prepare before risks become crises.
Grateful to @SyMOEADM for hosting this important discussion in Damascus as we strengthen cooperation on early warning, preparedness and mobility in #Syria.
Replying to @IOMSyria
IOM will map early warning & mobility systems, consolidate DTM & climate data, develop predictive displacement models & dashboards, and support real-time mobility monitoring.
By turning data into action, we help communities prepare before crises escalate.
Pleased to attend yesterday’s graduation ceremony for the first cohort of Syria’s Women’s Police Academy.
Congratulations to the graduating women as they begin their service. IOM is pleased to support the Academy with training on rights-based border management, including human rights, risk assessment and analysis — strengthening professional capacity while supporting women’s meaningful participation in public institutions.
Sustainable solutions for displaced Syrians are also an investment in Syria’s recovery and regional stability.
As @IOMchief highlights, creating the conditions for safe, voluntary and dignified return - and sustainable reintegration - requires investment in communities, services and livelihoods.

Migration is not a challenge to manage - it is an opportunity to shape. #IMRF2026 is where we align ambition with action.
Migration is happening everywhere, and no country can manage it alone.
The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration helps countries work together, and the #IMRF2026 is where progress is reviewed and the next steps take shape.
