Every tweet from this woman clearly not understanding the law she made... this Charlie clip is evergreen

First they got rid of third spaces, then they banned them for social media, and now teenagers aren't even going to be able to talk to their friends while playing Fifa? Does the government *want* young people to kill themselves?

Jess, I also want to highlight how entirely inappropriate for it to, under any circumstances, be on the defence to prove its own innocence. This violates not only a number of human rights conventions & standards to which the UK is a party, but also the very concept of justice.

> You live in the UK
> You are forced to leak your government ID to random gaming companies
> They get data breaches
> Now your info is being sold to thieves and scammers
> The government can send you to prison for a comment you made online
What’s horrible about these laws is that once they pass, they never go back
The antis surely are quiet about all the censorship that goes on
It’s as if they would not want to admit that censorship is a slippery slope

Surely the UK porn ban will just ruin the sex offenders registry.
You run into a registered sex offender and now you'll never know if they're a serial rapist or if they just like a bit of consensual choking.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Altough the UK has a sex offender registry (ViSOR), it is not publicly accessible nor does it include offenders of the "UK Porn ban" which is part of the Crime and Policing Act 2026.

Erm this MP is implying kissing could be interpreted by a court as an illegal act under her deliberately vague amendment to the law.
Yesterday she also suggested people shouldn't be having oral sex due to the tiny risk of cancer.
Unfit to be an MP. Insane. Recall.

I'm sure nothing bad at all can come from defining "possession" so vaguely.

Not enough people are talking about how this British MP has said that in a British court of law, you will be guilty until your prove yourself innocent

Hi there, as the person who introduced the amendments which led to this ban, I can tell you that the law already bans non-fatal strangulation and attempted suffocation. Consent can be a defence in situations where there is not serious harm but is for the defendant to prove.
Quill retweeted
The “strangulation porn” law in the UK is so vague that now face-sitting, and potentially oral sex porn can be considered “choking”. And possession includes the cache from streaming. So you can now face being registered as a sex offender for porn acts legal (for now).
Quill retweeted
Notice how she didn't say the prosecution has to prove harm, but that the defendant has to prove a lack of harm?
Sex workers are often the canary in the coal mines when it comes to legislation.
They're trying out "guilty until proven innocent" on us now.
It'll be you tomorrow.
