Care is a human right – not ‘women’s duty.’ Govts must: 📢 Recognize care. 💸 Provide care. 🛠 Pay for care. Let’s #UniteForFairChange and demand care is treated as a universal public good – not a commodity. #16Days #NoExcuse #TogetherWeCare

"Small-scale farmers produce 70% of Africa's food. Ana Maria Loboguerrero, AICCRA Director highlights the importance of supporting these farmers sustainably to feed our growing population. From labs to fields, technologies like the rice app in Mali are crucial, ensuring real-time weather monitoring. Digital tools are essential for scaling, empowering farmers to achieve their goals. AICCRA’s new phase, backed by additional finance from the @WorldBank, marks a pivotal moment. This financing will empower youth to lead inclusive, gender-responsive climate-smart agribusiness. In addition, women will play a central role in this acceleration towards sustainability." #ReadyToScale #IDAworks

Empowering women is central to enhancing Africa's food systems. Women play a critical role in agriculture, yet they often face barriers to accessing land, credit, and decision-making power. We can unlock their full potential as agents of change in the agricultural sector if we shine a spotlight on them. Apply Now | waya.awardsplatform.com #FoodSystems | #WAYAAward2024

#CSW68 I was privileged to participate in the just ended Global Convention on Gender Equality in New York. Prioritize, and value Unpaid Care Work through Recognition, reduction, Redistribution and Representation. It's contribution to societal wellness and GDP is insurmountable.

📢At the AECF Side event on Investing in Women during #AGRF2023, we confronted a stark reality: Women in African agriculture face monumental barriers that deny them fair access to markets, land, and the capital they need. These barriers are rooted in deep-seated social and cultural norms. What does this mean for investors? 📌Beyond conventional capital assessments, it's time to gather specific data on enterprises and their impact on women, crafting measurable, monitored gender transformation strategies at the investment level. 📌It is critical to prioritize the collection of sex-disaggregated and enterprise-disaggregated data, embedding this within fund and investee executive teams and draw inspiration from institutions with successful products for women-owned SMEs and those in agricultural value chains. 📌Recognize that gender empowerment isn't just about social impact; it catalyzes business performance and economic growth. Dispel the misconception that making finance accessible to women-owned SMEs is costly – often, it's the attitudes and systems that require adjustment. Our focus should be on transformation, not just inclusion. At @AECFAfrica we firmly believe that by empowering women, we can spark a revolution, creating an equitable and prosperous future for all. Join us on this journey of transformation. #InvestingInWomen #AGRFinDar
