【IAC 2026｜山崎直子さんが語る「宇宙船地球号」と宇宙開発の未来】
IAC 2026の会場では、日本人女性として2人目の宇宙飛行士、山崎直子さんのインタビュー映像が繰り返し上映されています。
今年のIACのテーマは「The World Needs More Space（世界はもっと宇宙を必要としている）」。
宇宙から地球を見た経験について、山崎さんは、地球が美しくダイナミックである一方、とても繊細で脆い存在であることを語っていました。
「単なる知識ではなく、心の底から感じるもの」
そして、
「私たち一人ひとりが、宇宙船地球号の乗組員なのです」
また、宇宙開発が大きな転換期を迎えていることについてもお話しされていました。
かつてのスペースシャトルやISSは、政府主導の宇宙開発プログラムでした。
現在は民間企業が宇宙輸送や商業宇宙ステーションの開発を主導し、政府がサービスの利用者となる時代へと移りつつあります。
山崎さん自身も商業宇宙ステーションの開発に携わっており、その進展への期待を語っていました。
また、開催国トルコについても触れていました。トルコは2024年に初の宇宙飛行士をISSへ送り出しました。民間の宇宙輸送サービスを活用することで、宇宙活動に参加する国々の可能性も広がっています。
インタビューの終盤には、子どもの頃に望遠鏡で星を見た経験や、いつか行ってみたい場所として土星を挙げたこと、宇宙から流れ星を見たときのお話も。
宇宙開発の未来を語る一方で、宇宙への憧れを持ち続けていることが伝わってきました。
宇宙の商業化が進むなかでも、国際協力の大切さと、地球を一つの宇宙船として考える視点を忘れてはいけないと感じました。

It was a wonderful opportunity to attend @IAC2026Antalya with my fellow @vast representatives, reconnect with old friends and colleagues, and engage with many participants.

諏訪理飛行士の来年の初飛行楽しみです！
クルードラゴン宇宙船運用14号機（Crew-14）への搭乗が決定しました！🚀
2027年3月以降に打上げ予定のCrew-14に、ミッションスペシャリストとして搭乗し、国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）へ向かいます。ISSには半年ほど滞在する予定です。
でも、ミッションは打上げの日から始まるわけではありません。
それまでの訓練も、宇宙での生活も、そして地上でミッションを支えてくださるたくさんの方々の姿も含めて、これから皆さんに少しずつお伝えしていきたいと思っています。
そこでこれから、ヒューストンを代表して「ぼぶ＠ヒューストンスタッフ」さん、そして筑波から「つくばスタッフ」さんにも登場してもらい、宇宙飛行士を支える側から見た訓練やミッションの風景を、ときどき紹介してもらおうと思います！
私が見ている風景と、地上でミッションを支えるスタッフが見ている風景。同じミッションでも、きっと少し違って見えるはず。
そしてISSに行ってからは、宇宙から見たミッションと、JAXAの地上スタッフから見たミッション、その両方を楽しんでいただけたらと思います🌏🚀
2027年、ISSへ。
その道のりも含めて、一緒に楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです！

33年前の今日(1992年9月12日)、毛利衛宇宙飛行士が NASA のスペースシャトル 「エンデバー号」に日本人で初めて搭乗。宇宙飛行からの帰還後に語った「やっぱり地球は青かった」という言葉は広く知られるところになりました。

As an Artemis Accords partner, Greece is already helping shape the future of exploration. With this mission, it is contributing to the creation of a sustainable LEO economy.
Vast and @esa, on behalf of Greece, have signed an agreement for Vast’s private astronaut mission to the International Space Station in partnership with @NASA. @astrovenator is slated to serve as a mission specialist, becoming the first Greek astronaut. vast.news/46NBolT
