The only time the Master Ball has failed? As we well know, the Master Ball is the one Pokéball that has a 100% catch rate, and a Pokémon can never get out right? Well within all the anime series and games, there's one time where the ball, technically, failed. This is in Season 7, episode 35 of the Pokémon Advanced Generations series, where Ash and the gang met with an Elder Fisherman named Sullivan. Sullivan explained that he had been trying to catch this massive Whiscash, named Nero, for 50 years, and today was the day. Sullivan pulled out a Master Ball and threw it towards the Wishcash. There was a moment where we all thought, finally he's going to do it! But the Whiscash simply opened his mouth and SWALLOWED THE MASTER BALL WHOLE and just casually swam away. The one and only time where the Master Ball has failed to do it's job correctly. If you had a Master Ball - which Pokémon would you use it on and why is it the God Pokémon Bidoof?
