Who gets to define technological progress? Whose worldview gets encoded into the technology shaping our lives? And what do we need to UNLEARN to build something better? In DEEP UNLEARNING, renowned Engineer, Xoogler and Dreamer, Timnit Gebru (@timnitGebru) challenges us to question the technological future we’ve been told is inevitable—and imagine an alternative path forward. Coming February 2027.

Three-time Pulitzer winner Mike McIntire (@mmcintire) joins me to talk about his new book Ricochet (out today), and this one hit me hard. We've got more guns than people in this country, and I wanted to know how we got here and why we can't fix it. Mike broke down the NRA's radicalization, the Second Amendment fight all the way to the Supreme Court, and why Bobby Kennedy's assassination still echoes through this debate today. Trust me, you don't want to miss this one. Watch on X, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. One of the most important books that will be published this year is from my @QuincyInst colleagues @EliClifton and @ILustick92525 titled: Israel's Lobby: America in the Grip of a Foreign Power In some ways, it's a follow-up to Walt and Mearsheimer's best seller from 2007: The Israel Lobby. This is what @PublishersWkly just wrote about it: "The book is most revelatory when surveying how several presidents’ “own assessment of the nation’s interests were supplanted” by the lobby, starting in 1948 with President Truman, who recognized the state of Israel despite being “torn” about Palestine, or highlighting lesser-known attempts to sway policy, such as AIPAC’s $27 million effort to prevent the 2015 U.S. nuclear deal with Iran. Clifton and Lustick trenchantly warn that the U.S. is risking its own standing to “serve the ambitions of what has become a rogue state.” It’s a serious wake-up call." publishersweekly.com/9781668… You should pre-order it now (see subtweet for link).

On the latest @ClearerThnTruth, author @DougBrunt discusses The Lost Empire of Emmanuel Nobel. How the Nobels beat Standard Oil, why Stalin erased them from history, and how a 1919 warning set the stage for modern energy wars. Give a listen: 🎙️ open.spotify.com/episode/74O…

Randomly picked up a copy of Eleanor Johnson’s Scream with Me: Horror Films and the Rise of American Feminism. To my surprise CREEP and CREEP 2 are given a detailed analysis of both films through a feminist lens. The book is brilliant and it’s a major honor to be included.

Halfway through - cannot put it down. Would recommend this book to just about anybody. If it wasn’t all true and someone wrote it up as a fable, I doubt most people would believe it.

I’m free from audiobook prison! Was actually fun, and challenging in ways I did not expect. Who knew that stomach grumbling would require so many retakes?!?! Solution was holding a giant cushion over my stomach. EMANUEL NOBEL audio will be ready for pub day. Learn more here: tinyurl.com/3p8yepd2
