Possibly but I think the point of Solel is that a good man does not necessarily make a good leader. I think Solel was a guy given a role he wasn't ready and worked within the limit of his competencies the best he could without meddling with the politics of humans.

It could only be nostalgia and delusion. Not shifting trends in game design, one's own personal preferences, recency bias, or modernized conventions. This 30+ year franchise has always secretly been terrible.

I fundamentally love FE's gameplay and storytelling. That said Three Houses is probably at the top of excellent now. I havent decided where I want Fortune's Weave and I want to withhold my opinion until I beat it.

One of my biggest issues with Three Houses is that somehow (almost) every single one of the playable characters has deep rooted complicated trauma. I know that's there in part to inform the world building but most people have rather mundane baggage, like Diamants fear of magic.

I'm a part of the Sonic, Undertale, and Smash fan base and *somehow* Fire Emblem is the one I'm in I've had the most first-hand toxicity with. Its not even offensive just genuinely impressive. Kudos guys.

I cannot even begin to convey why this is such a clear example of how Rewind warps and breaks the identity of Fire Emblem. Rewind has done more damage to FE's game design than Casual mode ever could have.
