Judge Brian Devereaux has once again bailed a Cairns teen who has been bailed 25 times this year and convicted of 108 offences. These were some of his parting words to the thug. “I expect you to be really well supervised and to behave yourself,’’ he warned.

Here's a scan-by-scan breakdown of the thunderstorm cell that N722BD flew into. We've contoured the 30 dBZ surface, which signifies where moderate precipitation was present. The thunderstorm cell grew to 48,300 feet by 12:56 p.m., meaning that, at 12:48 p.m. when the plane flew through, it was still rapidly growing vertically. 15,000 feet of growth in under 20 minutes is a VERY intense updraft. Now what about icing? It's true that the ambient temperature OUTSIDE the storm was around minus-45 degrees Fahrenheit. That's generally too cold for icing, which requires supercooled water droplets – i.e. water droplets that remain a liquid at temperatures below freezing. Water sometimes is slow to freeze UNLESS it has something to freeze onto – like a cold surface (a plane). At minus-45, moisture would have already frozen into ice crystals, i.e. snowflakes, which aren't really dangerous to aviation. HOWEVER, the rapid growth of this thunderstorm cell 1.) carried LOTS of heat upwards, bending temperature surfaces and probably making the core of the thunderstorm cell 15 to 20+ degrees warmer. That warmth was probably amplified by the latent heat release of water droplets freezing, as my colleague Roger Edwards adroitly pointed out, and 2.) the swift updraft probably transported large, tropical raindrops upwards so quickly that some liquid remained even at altitude. A study in the journal "Nature" found that deep convective (thunderstorm) clouds regularly have supercooled water droplets down to minis-38 degrees, and it's probable that, at 35,000 feet, the temperatures inside this cloud were warmer. Therefore, while this wouldn't ordinarily be an "obvious" icing case, the forensic meteorology suggests icing as a probable contributing factor or cause. The NTSB will continue to investigate.
N722BD appears to have flown into a rapidly-growing thunderstorm cell, where pilots reported moderate icing. The thunderstorm cell was even taller than pictured; we contoured the 30 dBZ radar isosurface. The ill-fated aircraft entered the cell at 12:48 p.m..

A 60-year-old One Nation volunteer in Torquay has been hospitalised with serious head injuries, facial fractures and internal bleeding after he was allegedly bashed with a baseball bat by a 14-year-old boy and his father. Both the boy and his father are New Zealanders in Australia on special category visas. If you're on a visa and attack Australians for putting up campaign signs, you should be deported immediately.

I’m not at all shy about blaming DEI where appropriate, and it often is appropriate. But I see no DEI angle on this jet crash. The female pilot was not flying the plane. The captain was a 55 year old man. Trying to blame the girl for the crash is absurd and baseless. Yes she seemed frantic and terrified in the radio call but I would be to, and so would you. And even if she’d been cool as a cucumber, there isn’t the slightest reason to think it would have made any difference at all. I’ll fully admit that I wouldn’t get in a plane if the copilot was a 20 year old girl. But that doesn’t change the fact that there is no evidence that she was personally at fault. And for the record, becoming a pilot at 20 is pretty impressive. She had her shit together a lot more than I did at that age. I’ll say that at least. I don’t think airlines or private charter companies should be making any specific effort at all to be “inclusive” of women or whatever, but it’s still admirable for a kid to have a goal like that and pursue it. I don’t see any reason to mock her, as some have done. Some of the comments about that audio recording have been callous to an unhuman degree. None of you would have the stoicism in that situation that you demand from this girl. And again, there’s no reason to think stoicism would have magically kept the plane from falling out of the sky. Besides, she actually did seem pretty calm in that recording until the last few seconds, relative to the circumstance she was in. I don’t want my pilot to panic but I also don’t want them to be completely indifferent to the prospect of a fatal crash, as some commenters here apparently expect.

Hey guys! This is Buzz, again. @BuzzPatterson. I’m using my wife’s account because I’m locked out of mine, This past Saturday, a hacker hit my account and had it locked down. I even have an idea who did it. I’d love to reveal him but I can’t. All of my attempts to reach out to @X and @Support have been fruitless. I’ve had my account since 2009. The only other time I was hacked? Just prior to the Mid-Terms in 2020 when I ran for Congress. Coincidence? I pay @X for all the premium stuff and I’m in the Creator Program. I’ve made 100,000s of friends and contacts on X. Yet, they can’t protect my account without locking me out? I want my access back. That you for your attention to this matter. Please help. Please spread the word. My wife’s account doesn’t have the reach. Thank you! 🙏 @elonmusk @Support @nikitabier @GuntherEagleman @Hunter_Eagleman @WarlordDilley @catturd2
I’ve been hacked big time. Do not respond to my posts until I get it figured out. @X @Support Please do your job.

Looks like she's already back on the University of Michigan campus. Temulun Togochog was spotted on campus. Conservatives obviously aren't safe there. What is the @UMich policy on violence on campus? Or is violence against conservatives ok with them? Seems like a serious liability issue to me.

A 60-year-old One Nation volunteer was savagely bashed; he is in a serious condition in hospital with bleeding on the brain. The One Nation volunteer approached a father and son who were defacing a One Nation sign, before they bashed him with baseball bats. Don't expect Krissy Barrett to weigh in on this politically motivated attack by a deranged lefty.

I just voted in Ann Arbor. As a proud gay liberal, I planned to vote for Abdul El-Sayed. While in line, I began talking to the person behind me. He informed me that Abdul supports Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, who murder gay people. I switched my vote to Mike Rogers.

Pilots cannot instantaneously be 50 years old with 10's of 1000's of flying hours. They need to start somewhere, normally by flying smaller aircraft and working their way up. Unless there is evidence that her qualification was fraudulent, she earned her position as a pilot.

Yea that t-cell literally came out of nowhere. Rose 11k ft in 10 minutes, basically right underneath them and they were course correcting back to FPO. Likely in 0 vis. This is mostly a freak accident and shit fucking luck it looks like.

He is correct my son is a CFI ironically with the same school she was with. 20yrs old having LJ60 type rating is rare and not sure is possible without having megabucks to pay for flying time.

True humanity would be processes already in place to prevent this (and others) foreseeable tragedy If it was her - tragedy If it wasn't her - future tragedy as people stick their collective head up their ass & pretend we want these post-pubescent fangurls behind the raw power of a rocket that can instantly vaporize you If these fangurls want to fly, let them solo pilot until they are at least 50 years old with a gazillion flight hours Even at 50, a woman's emotional maturity is still suspect How do I know? I am a woman

Nah Matthew, you're a trillion percent wrong. Those two DEI morons had no business being behind the controls of a Jet. Low IQ fools who went straight into a cold column and tried to pull up? Every pilot knows you either speed up to punch through straight or go around with the tower instructing. Stop enabling stupid woke idiots getting innocent people killed. It's a fucking outrage this was allowed to happen.

I admit that I want former Air Force pilots to be flying my commercial plane when I travel, but the hate that this poor girl has been getting is inappropriate. First, we don't know what happened. Secondly, she worked towards a trade while in high school. That is to be applauded. Thirdly, many people are mourning losses today. Take a step back and remember your humanity.

I think it's appropriate to make an example out of her. People are losing their lives because no one tells their daughters to go be a wife and a mom (what women are actually suited for).

- Jeff Gregory, a 55-year-old pilot from Pennsylvania, with 2 decades of flying experience. - Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, the 20-year-old co-pilot from Florida, with 3 years of flying experience. These were the individuals flying the LearJet 60 that crashed yesterday in Palm Beach County, Florida. Weather reports indicate a "once in a thousand years storm," with 17 inches of rain in 6 hours, hammered the Palm Beach area yesterday. It wasn't about "DEI," it wasn't about gender, and it wasn't about a lack of experience. It was a freak storm and a complete tragedy of circumstances. 💔 Please pray for their family and friends. 🕊

Her entire social media was using her newly acquired pilot Certs as girl boss material. Also, she was in an active relationship with the pilot. She got nine people killed. You wouldn’t have flown with her that day.

40+ year professional meteorologist here. At that altitude, a climb goes to colder air, not warmer. You want colder than –45C to fly through ice crystals, which do not cause icing on surfaces because they’re already frozen—instead of supercooled water in the storm core at warmer sub freezing temperatures. Obviously it’s best not to fly into the storm at all. Why did they? That should be a big focus of the investigation.
