Does this sound like depression?
• Low mood.
• No energy, sleeping a lot, lying around or staying in bed all day.
•Everything’s an effort, no motivation.
• Brain fog.
• Feel irritable, snappy or anxious, low frustration tolerance.
• Avoid bright light, noise, and going out unless absolutely necessary.
• Isolating, no interest in activities, hobbies, or socialising.
• No interest in talking or texting, ignoring calls, not returning calls, it all feels like too much.
• Personal hygiene and household chores take a back seat.
Now take these exact same symptoms and behaviours but add:
Respiratory symptoms - it’s called the flu.
Vomiting and diarrhoea - it’s called food poisoning.
Fever - it’s called an infection.
Serious injury/surgery - it’s called post injury/surgery recovery.
Lost a loved one - it’s called grief.
Significant event - it’s called trauma or PTSD
Same baseline symptoms and behaviours, different causes. The behaviours are collectively known as ‘Sickness Behaviour’ and they occur in humans and animals when the Cell Danger response (CDR) is activated. It’s the common denominator in over 100 chronic illnesses.
CDR is an inbuilt metabolic process that’s activated by mitochondria when cells are under threat. The immune system and sympathetic nervous system are heavily involved. It happens at the cellular level. It is beyond your control.
Thyroid, appetite, and many non essential functions are down-regulated, activity & thinking is greatly reduced, and the body is forced to isolate and batten down the hatches while the threat is dealt with. It’s meant to be a temporary response.
CDR prioritises energy and resources to focus on the threat and sustaining life first, then on healing.
If the threat phase continues, healing can’t begin. If it’s interrupted at any stage (eg new threats), it battens down the hatches again and starts from scratch.
The more severe the threat the stronger the CDR response, eg mild/localised threats versus severe or systemic threats. It can become stuck if there are too many threats without time for resolution, or with severe exposures/damage, leading to chronic ME/CFS type symptoms.
Depending on the type of threat, other processes are activated to destroy or purge it, like sneezing, coughing, mucous, vomiting, diarrhoea, pain, crying, or fever.
Once the threat is eliminated, focus moves to rebuilding and repairing. When healing is complete, CDR is deactivated and normal function returns.
A stuck CDR is the common denominator in many chronic illnesses.
When there are no overt physical causes, it’s wrongly labelled as depression and classed as a mental illness. Potent neuroleptics are then prescribed, which alter (and can derange) the nervous system, adding more threats.
What is a threat?
Literally anything that’s not meant to be in the body, anything biological, physical, psychological, or environmental that can impact, change, or harm normal metabolic functioning, or threaten life.
Anything that upsets metabolic homeostasis:
• Trauma, abuse, ACEs, profound injustices.
• Infections: parasites, mould, bacteria.
• Feeling unsafe.
• Chemicals, heavy metals, venoms, noxious gases/inhalants, other toxins.
• Chronic stress.
• Poverty.
• Nutrient deficiencies, malnutrition.
• Social isolation.
• Significant loss, grief.
• Consuming harmful substances.
• Physical injuries.
Chronic depression is not a mental illness, it’s a system stuck in CDR following an assault(s) on the body or mind.

There's lots of crystal balling in psychiatry. There are copious amounts of pontificating, guesswork, opinions, suppositions, conjecture, theories, speculation, assumptions, beliefs, presumptions and so on but there's no science.
Definitely no science. Just to confirm that - no science.

One of humanity’s biggest crimes. It’s destroying so many brains and nervous systems.
Victoria, Australia
233% increase in homicides by people with psychosis.
~1 in 3 of 2024/25 homicides committed by people with psychosis.
84% of them had received ‘treatment’ by mental health services, and half were still under a MH service at the time of the murder.
Given most had contact with MH services, it’s a safe bet that all were either on psych drugs, withdrawing from them, taking them intermittently, recently had dose increases or decreases or changed to something else, and were taking more than 1 class of drug at any given time.
Every time I hear mental health and violent crime in the same news headline my first thought is always ‘what psychotropics had they been taking’?
They blame everything but.

This is terrifying. It makes me think of 1940s Germany. If it’s happening in Canada it’ll be coming to Australia.
Hospitals are no longer hospitals.

BREAKING: M.A.I.D. now part of DNR Orders(Do Not Resusitate) with Bill C-41...
Massive outrage as Canada’s highly controversial medical updates spark absolute horror over patient safeguards. Critics are calling it an unhinged dystopia after proposals emerged that could blur the lines between standard medical care and state-sponsored life-ending procedures.
Under the guise of "advanced directives," critics warn the system is opening a terrifying backdoor that effectively lets medical institutions decide if and when to end a citizen's life. Slipping lethal execution protocols into a patient’s medical chart—collapsing the line between a standard Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order and an active push for medical assistance in dying (MAID)—is a localized death sentence.
Giving hospitals the bureaucratic authority to decide when someone's "quality of life" has expired is an unspeakable violation of human rights. Bill C-41 is turning hospitals from places of healing into execution chambers. This is absolute insanity.

This talking shit about patients and other staff is rampant in health, not just psychiatry, and in my experience female staff are the worst.
Why are so many female dominated workplaces so gossipy and bitchy?
It’s a pattern. 👇
Now that I’ve voluntarily discharged from my former pain clinic, there’s more I want to expose.
For nearly 3 years, I walked in with my hair done, makeup on, dressed nicely, smiling like I wasn’t suffering. That wasn’t wellness. It was a survival skill I developed over YEARS of chronic pain.
Most months, I faked it till I made it. But sometimes I was too exhausted or in too much pain to perform. And what did my provider say when I wasn’t my usual cheerful self?
“You should be happy.”
REALLY?! I wake up feeling like I have the flu EVERY DAY. Some days, getting dressed is agonizing. But sure. JUST BE HAPPY. Wake up in this body and see how cheerful YOU feel.
And then there’s her medication knowledge.
My provider put me on tramadol for TWO MONTHS after insurance stopped covering Xtampza ER and other options became limited. Then she abruptly discontinued it when switching me to OxyContin ER, apparently thinking another long-acting opioid would solve everything.
Except she didn’t even know tramadol has SNRI properties! Its serotonin and norepinephrine effects don’t simply disappear because you’re taking another opioid. I experienced NEUROPSYCHIATRIC EFFECTS after stopping it.
HOW do you prescribe a medication without understanding what happens when you abruptly discontinue it?!
Then there was the urine drug analysis incident.
I was prescribed OxyContin ER and hydrocodone IR for breakthrough pain. My urine showed both. Yet my provider pointed to the hydrocodone and said, “You made an oopsies.”
EXCUSE ME?! I reminded her SHE prescribed hydrocodone that month. She said not to worry because she’d prescribed it, but to “be careful.”
BE CAREFUL?! Of WHAT?!
Then she asked why oxycodone was there. HELLO?! OxyContin IS oxycodone! I was taking the extended-release medication alongside instant-release hydrocodone for breakthrough pain. I had to explain BOTH prescriptions to her.
Finally: “Oh yeah, you’re right.” She said she’d note it in my medical record.
A misinterpreted urine test can jeopardize a pain patient’s treatment. And I was having to educate the person prescribing my medication!
And the behind-the-scenes behavior? OH, I HAVE STORIES.
I repeatedly heard my provider and medical assistants TALKING SHIT about pain patients. Not professional discussions—gossip and mockery.
I PLAYED ALONG. ON PURPOSE.
I smiled, laughed, and acted like I belonged in their gossip circle. NOT because I agreed with mocking patients. I was protecting my treatment, blending in, and seeing just how much they’d reveal.
And OH, did they get comfortable. They discussed patients’ behavior and personal business. Sometimes staff would even try looking up a patient’s name in the computer.
They talked shit about physicians, too. Yes, I joined in about one interventional doctor’s obvious comb-over and excessive hair fiber powder. THAT part wasn’t an act. SIR, YOU’RE A DOCTOR. YOU HAVE MONEY. BOOK A FLIGHT TO TURKEY! 💀
Meanwhile, I was paying attention to EVERYTHING. When people think you’re one of them, they reveal plenty.
DON’T MESS WITH A GAY. WE CAN BE SHADY. 💅🏼
But beneath the shade, this is disturbing. Imagine depending on a clinic to function, knowing staff might mock you after you leave. Imagine having to perform happiness to be treated decently.
I spent YEARS walking on eggshells. I’m no longer their patient, and I no longer have to play along.
CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS DESERVE COMPETENCE, DIGNITY, AND RESPECT.

DSM-6 is a grift/mistake whose only real purpose is publishing profits for Am Psychiatric Assoc.
Changing its name from 'Diagnostic & Statistical Manual' to 'Diagnostic & Scientific Manual' is putting lipstick on a pig.
Giant leaps in neuroscience during past 50 yrs have had absolutely no impact on diagnosis.
Ahahaha doctors blowing smoke up peoples arses, how ironic 🤣🤣
1774: they blew tobacco smoke up drowning victims' backsides to revive them, and the kits hung along the Thames like lifebuoys.
1863: they sold cocaine wine as a daily tonic, and a pope pinned a gold medal on it.
1898: they sold heroin as a cough medicine, and spooned it into coughing children.
1918: they sold radium water as a health drink, and the millionaire who drank 1,400 bottles was buried in a lead-lined coffin with most of his jaw gone.
1921: they put lead in petrol, and Britain kept it in the pumps until 2000.
1930s: they X-rayed children's feet in shoe shops, and kids queued to watch their toes wiggle on the screen.
1940s: they rubbed mercury teething powder into babies' gums, and about 1 in 500 of those babies was poisoned.
1946: they sold cigarettes on the line that more doctors smoked their brand, and put a man in a white coat on the advert.
1949: they gave the lobotomy a Nobel Prize, and doctors went in through the eye socket with an ice pick.
1952: they sold a cigarette filter made of asbestos as the greatest health protection in smoking history, and smokers drew it into their lungs with every puff.
1957: they sold thalidomide to pregnant women for morning sickness, and around 10,000 babies were born with missing or shortened limbs.
1960s: they sold margarine as the heart-healthy fat, and spread trans fat on a generation's toast.
1996: they sold OxyContin as barely addictive, and started an overdose epidemic.
1999: they sold Vioxx for sore joints, and pulled it five years later after tens of thousands of heart attacks.
2026: they're selling seed oil as the heart-healthy fat, and it's in almost every packet in your kitchen.
Every one of these came with an expert's blessing and the same total certainty.
The people telling you which fat to fear today sit in the same chairs as the ones who put radium in the water and a doctor on the cigarette packet, and they're every bit as sure.
"The experts recommend it" has the longest body count in medicine.

How it felt when you tried to speak up and warn others...
Don’t trust a gossip. If they’re talking about others behind their backs, they’re talking about you behind your back. They’re not selective.
Completely agree. Having worked in many acute mental health facilities, there is absolutely nothing therapeutic about them whatsoever.
For most involuntarily admitted patients, they are just terrifying, traumatising, demeaning shit hole prisons that they can’t wait to leave.

Every time the science has been settled, somebody paid for the settlement, and the bill has a name on it.
1747: James Lind cures scurvy with lemons. The Navy keeps it settled as a disease of damp air for forty-eight years and loses more sailors to it than to the French.
1799: Bleeding is settled. George Washington is drained of nearly half his blood for a sore throat and is dead by evening.
1847: Childbed fever is settled as bad air. Ignaz Semmelweis washes his hands and the deaths on his ward fall from one mother in ten to one in a hundred. He is sacked, committed, and beaten to death in an asylum.
1915: Pellagra is settled as an infection. Joseph Goldberger proves it is the corn diet of the poor by injecting himself with sufferers' blood. The South keeps the corn, and 100,000 Americans die of it.
1941: The lobotomy is settled, and about to win a Nobel. Rosemary Kennedy, twenty-three, is left unable to walk or speak, one of 40,000 Americans put under the pick.
1956: The pregnancy X-ray is settled as harmless. Alice Stewart shows one scan doubles a child's chance of cancer. She loses her funding and the scans run for another quarter century.
1961: Thalidomide is settled as safe for morning sickness. Ten thousand babies.
1971: DES is settled as a pregnancy protector. The daughters of the women who took it develop a cancer nobody has seen before.
1972: Sugar is settled as harmless. John Yudkin writes that it is not, and the fat men and the sugar men end his career between them.
1984: Fat is settled as the killer, and a generation of mothers swaps the butter for a tub of oil.
2004: Vioxx is settled as a safe painkiller. Up to 140,000 heart attacks before it is pulled.
The science was settled every single time. The only thing it ever settled was who took the blame afterwards.
When I stopped 50mg of sertraline, the worst withdrawal symptom I had was the constant intrusive suicidal and (very dark) revenge thoughts and urges. I’d never had them before or while I was taking it, only when I stopped it.
They played over and over like a video stuck on repeat. They were vivid, and loud like my internal thoughts had been turned up to full volume. I had nightmares about the same things, and they were loud too.
It took every ounce of strength I had to fight them and I barely left the house. Nothing I did would stop them, and I tried so hard.
4 months of constant internal torture and terror like nothing I’ve ever experienced.
No one should EVER have to go through torture like that.
I’m sure many have experienced the exact same thing but lost the fight and are either dead or sitting in jail.
NOBODY is warned about these dangerous SSRI withdrawal effects, or held accountable for the harm they cause.
If you drive a car with a minor defect, you get fined for putting others safety at risk and have to take it off the road. Someone in a pub fight throws a punch, they go to jail for hurting someone. The dangers these drugs pose - crickets!
It’s criminal.

98 quintillion sertraline molecules in one 50mg tablet. Thats 1.96 quintillion sertraline molecules p/mg.
Puts a whole different perspective on withdrawal.
3 years I’ve been hearing my neighbour get regular bouts of a hacking chesty cough. Past few months they’ve been every month and they’re getting longer and worse, to the point of vomiting. He’s up to date with all his jabs though.
Other neighbour got 2 💉and health issues since, 2 lots of surgery and another booked.
Neighbour over the back has lung and breast cancer.
2 down the street died and their houses are up for sale.
So damn sad.
A car mechanic knows every part, switch, system, and engine in almost every model of car. They check everything, find the problem, and fix it.
Medical specialists focus on just one organ or system of the body, as though the other parts don’t exist. They don’t see the body and brain as one interconnected organism.
People get passed from one specialist to another, and they each charge a fortune to look at just one piece of the puzzle. Any wonder chronic illness is so prevalent, rarely ‘fixed’, and people get prescribed so many different drugs.
Our health systems are set up wrong.

Major Depressive Disorder as a disease is a recent invention. The suffering it claims to describe is ancient. However, you cannot prescribe a pill for a broken relationship, for the loss of a job or a dream, for the death of a person you loved...

My heart bleeds for the many souls no longer walking among us after psychiatric abuse. As a current victim, I intend to share my story of how clinical narratives can be ever-evolving to fit the picture of a lucid person.
No human should ever be given sovereignty over another human’s body. The entitled nature of psychiatrists is an assault on an ever-increasing number of people, because their authority rests on the power to redefine a person’s experiences until they match the required diagnosis. Once that power is granted, alternative accounts are treated as further evidence of illness rather than as competing explanations, and the process becomes a self-reinforcing logical fallacy.
