25 yrs since 🇦🇺 entered Afghanistan. I want to acknowledge all the Aussies who served there, the families that supported them. The 41 Aussies who died serving their country & those that have paid an ongoing price since returning home. As a nation we must never forget their sacrifice & the hard lessons learnt. New Zealand intelligence agencies are now speaking ***much*** more bluntly about the PRC. Latest threat report gives a little bit of detail on an attempt by Purple Mountain observatory (a major Chinese institution) to covertly install ground based space infrastructure in NZ

You can’t be a good economic manager in 2026 without being a climate realist. APRA’s modelling is clear: climate inaction means household incomes up to 20% lower, persistent inflation & higher interest rates. Ignore climate and you’ll pay for it. 🔥 theaustralian.com.au/nation/…

New Zealand designed rocket, launching Australian payload. I honestly hadn’t appreciated how much work Australian researchers have done on scramjets, i was working on a video and a lot of the great university level courses are from Australia.
Today's HASTE hypersonic launch is an experimental mission that's a bit different to the usual Electron launches. Here's how. 1. Electron typically reaches final staging ~9 minutes after liftoff. Today? HASTE will complete its mission in <3 minutes. 2. No 2nd stage engine burn or battery hot-swap on this launch. Instead MECO, fairing sep, and payload deployment are all expected to take place within seconds and these events mark the end of Rocket Lab's role in the mission - from here its over to DART to carry out its mission objectives for @DIU_x and @HypersonixAU.

Mission 2 Milestone Success 5 ✅🌓 The RESILIENCE lunar lander successfully completed a flyby of the Moon on Feb. 15, 2025, coming within approximately 8,400 km of the lunar surface--a historic first of its type for a Japanese private, commercial lunar lander. This spectacular image of our celestial neighbor was taken by RESILIENCE on Feb. 15, 2025 at an altitude of 14,439 km. RESILIENCE is now on a trajectory out to deep space before completing orbital maneuvers that will bring it back towards the Moon in advance of lunar orbit insertion, expected around early May.
