Does this has to do with a curse or plague that history has presented to anyone climbing the ladder of boxing gods?

🥊 FROM THE BOXING RING TO A PRISON CELL
Some of boxing's biggest names have experienced life behind bars. Their achievements in the ring didn't protect them from legal consequences.
1. Mike Tyson 🇺🇸 — 1992
Convicted of rape and sentenced to six years in prison. He served approximately three years before his release in 1995.
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 🇺🇸 — 2012
Served approximately two months of a 90-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to domestic violence battery and harassment charges.
3. Riddick Bowe 🇺🇸 — 2003
The former heavyweight champion was sentenced to 18 months in prison following the 1998 abduction of his estranged wife and children.
4. Adrien Broner 🇺🇸 — 2016
Jailed for violating probation connected to a reckless-driving case. He was also separately jailed for contempt of court that year.
5. Ike Ibeabuchi 🇳🇬 — 2002
The undefeated Nigerian heavyweight, once considered a serious world-title contender, was sentenced to prison following a 1999 incident involving attempted sexual assault and battery. He entered an Alford plea and was sentenced to 5–30 years. He was released in 2015 after serving approximately 16 years in custody.
Five talented fighters. Five different legal histories.
Some returned to boxing. Others never regained their former careers.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR TAKES ON MIKURU ASAKURA IN A JAPAN EXHIBITION
Floyd Mayweather Jr. entered the ring at 45 against 30-year-old Mikuru Asakura in a 2022 exhibition.
Mayweather collected a reported $15 million payday for the Japan bout.
Asakura surprised many by landing several solid punches despite rarely keeping his hands up.
The Japanese fighter’s aggression forced Mayweather to respect the power coming his way.
In the final round Mayweather absorbed a serious shot then flipped the switch.
He responded with sharper, more assertive boxing and turned the exhibition into a genuine competitive fight.
He was taking punishment, but he refused to fold. 🔥🥊 Winning matters, but the courage to keep fighting when everything is against you is what makes boxing special. Small man, BIG HEART! 👑💯

July 16, 1988. Evander Holyfield vs. James “Quick” Tillis Caesars Tahoe, Stateline, Nevada.
Three months after becoming undisputed cruiserweight champion, Holyfield made his heavyweight debut against a veteran who had already tested Mike Tyson.
Tillis entered at 38–13–1 and had become the first man to take Tyson the full ten rounds in 1986, losing by decision.
Holyfield, unbeaten at 18–0, weighed 202 pounds against Tillis’s 210. His move to heavyweight was part of a longer plan to challenge Tyson for the world title.
Tillis lasted five rounds without being knocked down. Referee Richard Steele called for the ringside doctor, who advised that Tillis should not continue. The fight was stopped before the sixth.
Two years later, Holyfield defeated Buster Douglas to become undisputed heavyweight champion, following a different path to the title than the anticipated Tyson showdown.

He came in acting like the boogeyman, then found out the hard way that nobody is untouchable. 😭💀 In combat sports, the same confidence you use to intimidate someone can become your downfall. Karma clocked in early! 🥊
