Two days after I wrote this tweet 9 yrs ago, we lost #KofiAwoonor to the attack at the #WestgateMall in Nairobi. Short though that connection was, Uncle Kofi was a lifelong teacher & in part responsible for the fierce pride I have in all my heritages - continental & Diasporic.
