In 2019, Okawa Ryuho’s first son Hiroshi was expelled by his father and his religion. Hiroshi now runs as a candidate for the “Party for the Protection of the People from Religious Cults”.
On Saturday, he protested with like-minded people at the religion’s HQ and provoked not only police presence but also a megaphone shouting match with representatives of the religion.
Sankei Shinbun reports that according to a 関係者 Okawa Ryuho, founder and leader of the religion 幸福の科学, has died.

Abe's offices in his electoral district in Yamaguchi are now formally closed. The leadership of his support organization (kôenkai) is looking into nominating Shimonoseki city council member Yoshida Shinji as successor and candidate for the Lower House by-election.
Komeito's Yamaguchi once again on a diplomatic mission (without formally being a member of the government). LDP PM's have dispatched Komeito politicians to do (tricky) foreign policy on quite a few occassions in the past. This time Yamaguchi talked to South Korean president Yoon.
