The successful conclusion of the 7th CICA Summit in Baku, #Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 marks an important milestone in advancing regional dialogue, mutual trust and cooperation across Asia. Key outcomes: ✅ Adoption of the Baku Declaration and Statement on Occupational Safety and Health; ✅ Lao PDR’s full CICA membership; ✅ Extension of Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship for 2026–2028, in recognition of its effective leadership; ✅ Appointment of Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev as CICA Secretary General for 2026–2030; ✅ Cambodia’s ratification completing the process for the entry into force of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the CICA Secretariat; ✅ Renewed commitment to multilateralism, connectivity, peace and security in Asia. Today, a father and his son have been severely maimed in landmine explosion in Jabrayil district, bringing the number of landmine victims in #Azerbaijan to 4️⃣4️⃣3️⃣ since the end of the 2020-war. This horrific incident once again demonstrates the deadly and indiscriminate threat posed by landmines, which continue to claim innocent lives and inflict devastating injuries. Azerbaijan strongly condemns the continued danger posed by landmines and calls for greater international attention for mine action in Azerbaijan.

On the margins of #UNGA81, Minister of Foreign Affairs of #Azerbaijan @Bayramov_Jeyhun met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres @antonioguterres. The sides exchanged views on regional and international developments, including Azerbaijan’s engagement in the UN framework and its role in promoting dialogue, stability, and cooperation. Azerbaijan’s active participation within the UN and its specialized agencies, its active contribution to multilateralism, international law, and the principles of the UN Charter was emphasised. The discussions also addressed Azerbaijan’s contribution as a donor country and its humanitarian initiatives. The discussion highlighted global climate action and sustainable development, noting Azerbaijan’s successful hosting of COP29, alongside expanding role in renewable energy, transport, and regional connectivity. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed on recent progress in the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process, confidence-building efforts in the South Caucasus, large-scale reconstruction in liberated territories supporting the return of former IDPs, and demining efforts.

Foreign Minister @Bayramov_Jeyhun addressed the High-level Meeting of the Global Development Initiative on its 5th anniversary on the sidelines of #UNGA81. The Minister commended China for driving this vital framework toward achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He highlighted the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established between Azerbaijan and China following President Ilham Aliyev’s historic state visit to Beijing. The Minister welcomed China’s vision for reforming the international system based on sovereign equality, respect for the UN Charter, and the rule of international law. The Minister has emphasised Azerbaijan’s practical role as a reliable regional transit hub, driving continuous modernization of the Middle Corridor to create secure trade links between China and Europe that directly lower trade costs and expand market access for developing nations. Minister @Bayramov_Jeyhun addressed the Twenty-Fifth Annual Ministerial Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) on the sidelines of#UNGA81. He emphasized that through long-term strategic investments and sustained regional partnerships, 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan has successfully transformed its landlocked geography into a key logistical, transit, and energy nexus connecting East-West and North-South corridors. The Minister highlighted the need for transit digitalization, simplified customs procedures, and integrated energy-digital links like the Central Asia–Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor. He stressed that combining transport, energy, and digital infrastructure creates a far more resilient global trade architecture. Foreign Minister @Bayramov_Jeyhun addressed the Council of Ministers meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization @ECO_int on the sidelines of #UNGA81. In his statement, the Minister outlined the implementation of the strategic Khankendi Communiqué and Action Plan adopted at the 17th ECO Summit in Khankendi, highlighting the operational launch of the ECO Clean Energy Centre in Baku and Shusha’s active role as the ECO Tourism Capital for 2026. The Minister emphasized Azerbaijan’s important role along the Middle Corridor—including the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, Alat Port, as well as green digital integration via the Digital Silk Way. He also pointed to the strategic synergy between the South Caucasus and Central Asia, referring to Azerbaijan’s membership and active participation in the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Cholpon-Ata and the upcoming summit in Avaza. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed on the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process following the August 2025 Washington Peace Summit, emphasizing confidence-building steps, the lifting of transit restrictions, and large-scale reconstruction in liberated Karabakh and East Zangezur. #UNGA81
