Over a distinguished 25-year career in Oral Surgery spanning both India and the Uk, and including 14 years at JCUH, Ushmita has proven to be a valuable member of the team. Ushmita combines expert clinical care with a deep passion for education. She routinely delivers hands-on dentoalveolar skills training to OMFS registrars, junior SAS doctors, and dental core trainees. She is a trusted clinical supervisor and has been an educational supervisor for the last 4 years or dental core trainees. Ushmita serves as the North East Regional representative for the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS), elevating the speciality by organising national webinars. Furthermore, Ushmita plays a vital operational role within the department by managing the complex rota for junior doctors and mid-grade staff, which is critically important for the smooth functioning of the department. She drives staff cohesion by organizing trust-wide SAS social evenings and departmental outings.
