When we introduced the marketplace into neurodevelopmental assessments, something fundamental shifted.
When there is a profit to be made from convincing people they might be autistic or have ADHD, then we are all at risk of overmedicalisation. It is in the interest of private providers to expand their audience.
Once the demand is there, the incentives are to carry out assessments as cheaply as possible. And that can mean poor quality assessments leading to life long diagnoses.

Alert: Ed tech industry-supported whitewashing effort - shows desperation that they publicize supposed polls favoring limiting screen time over banning it.
Parents know that banning technology from classrooms is only setting kids up to be unprepared for the future. What they want are clear limits, explanations about how screens support learning, and to be part of the conversation before the policies get written. See what else parents have to say: NPUonAI.org
