The APPG welcomes the announcement that there will be expanded support for patients in GP practices, including social prescribing. Our report outlined how complementary therapies can improve outcomes for patients via social prescribing, especially for those with chronic pain.
The consultation on a licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures closes on the 28th October.
Make sure you have your say to ensure consumers can be confident that the treatment they receive is safe and of a high standard !

This investigation shows how some unscrupulous practitioners are taking advantage of young people.
There needs to be stronger oversight to protect young people from exploitative practices, and consequences where the law is broken.

Stories like the below are becoming far too common. The Government must crack down on unregulated cosmetic procedures and introduce the licensing regime for non-surgical cosmetic urgently! 💉

The APPG welcomes the ASA's decision to ban more ads exaggerating health and beauty treatment benefits like Botox and lip fillers.
We raised these concerns in our 2021 report and urge the Govt to consider this in their response to our recent letter

The APPG has written to @DHSCgovuk Minister. It's been 18 months since the Group’s report on aesthetic procedures & not one of the report’s recommendations have been enforced. We are disappointed that the Minister has not met with us to discuss our recommendations for reform.

This evening @LucreziaMillarini gets under the skin of the aesthetics industry to look at the rising popularity of so-called cosmetic 'tweakments' - such as lip filler and anti-wrinkle injections – and asks if there is enough protection for consumers. 20.30 @itv @itvx #itvtonight
