“Green is a process, not a status. We to think of ‘green’ as a verb, not an adjective.” Quote by Daniel Goldman. Green is a journey, it is something we do.

#CAGreenRibbon Schools have turned "green" into a verb and share the path they took to get there and continue to forge!

In the excitement of taking a rain sample, 1 very important step is completing the Chain of Custody. SWPPP Interns are practicing their attention to detail skills by following a cookie recipe & evaluating if their cookies meet EPA benchmark. Is there too much salt? Sugar? Egg?

After 3 weeks of sitting in water (and shaking every day) the wipes and tissue are still not broken down. Imagine what happens when everyone flushes them..😳. Water Management Interns help to lead the outreach in San Diego and continue educating others. #WMI #wipeoutwipes – at Yorba Linda, CA

Fun Facts about rain barrels:
-Reduces rainwater runoff
-Provides water during drought months
-Conserves water
Here's @PECPTA rain barrel collecting rain to water its nearby native planter. Even when no one is on campus, the magic of a rain barrel works behind the scenes.

Even though our students are at home, we are making sure they stay in touch with our programming. We are asking young students to measure the rainfall and older interns to calculate how much rain their roof top can harvest. @BCKPrograms
Calling all SWPPP Interns and rain water enthusiasts! Looks like we are going to have a few days of rain. We challenge you to gather some materials and make a rain gauge to measure the amount of rainfall. How many inches of rain do you think we will get? #SWPPP #Distancelearning

It’s important to #FlushSmart. Know your wipes! Those labeled “flushable” are specifically engineered to be flushed and safe for plumbing/sewer systems. Always check the label before flushing. Responsibleflushingalliance.…

@swpppinternship at home - Students are creating the BMPs they learned about in class on Minecraft. They know oil and grease from leaking cars can end up in our waterways. We love how they continue to brainstorm on solutions. @BCKPrograms
