We aren’t just a meetup.
BTCSoCo was born on energy, intention, and fun. Inspired at Bitcoin Nashville, we asked, how can we make an impact, stand out, and create a space people want to return to?
The answer: a curated, invite-only social club where Bitcoin meets connection.

Your browser quietly fixed a huge security hole last week.
But your computer has OTHER software that talks to the internet and most of it is still wide open.

Bitcoin messaging matters,⚡️ Part 2
Not everyone who calls themselves a Bitcoiner represents what Bitcoin stands for.
We learned that firsthand in Nashville.
The night before Bitcoin Nashville 2024, we met a few guys in our hotel lobby who were in town for the conference…but not to attend it. They were there to shill their own token on the back of Bitcoin.
We were still new to the Bitcoin space and pretty naive… we sat to chat. They invited us to their private party the next night, put us on the list, and casually shared Shia LaBeouf would be there supporting them. (He wasn’t.)
That was our first real lesson in grifting: anyone can call themselves a Bitcoiner when it benefits them.
So I’ve started asking myself: Do I represent Bitcoin with integrity? And do those around me do the same?
Every time I talk about it, introduce someone to it, or show up as a Bitcoiner, I’m shaping how others see it.
Bitcoin’s message is clear. The people carrying it aren’t always.
Be discerning about who you listen to, trust, and follow. Bitcoin deserves better than those who use its name for personal gain.
Bitcoin messaging matters, ⚡️ Part 1.
People decide in seconds whether they want to keep listening.
Years ago, I bought Bitcoin out of pure hopium. Maybe it would go up.
My first impression of Bitcoin’s culture came from my dad’s iPhone backdrop, the meme stickers around his office, and YouTube videos of Bitcoiners with laser eyes. I remember thinking it was odd that a potentially world-changing monetary asset was wrapped in Pepe the Frog memes and laser eyes.
I asked myself: Why would anyone take this seriously?
I was already investing in alternative assets, so the first impression didn’t stop me. Most people don’t have that starting point.
I still believe Bitcoin can change the world. But as I’ve learned more, done my own research, and listened… a lot. I’ve realized that how we communicate Bitcoin to others matters.
The meme culture, intensity in X Spaces, and the insider tone can make a transformative monetary idea harder for newcomers to take seriously, and harder for Bitcoin to reach everyone.
So here’s my question: What drew you in… and what almost turned you away?
Bitcoin’s potential is enormous, but the way we communicate it decides how many people ever give it a chance.

Bitcoin messaging matters.
Bitcoin has no CEO and no ad budget, so every one of us IS the messaging.

Thank you for always carrying yourself and Bitcoin with class, @natbrunell. 👏
Please continue making Bitcoin more understandable and accessible to the masses and try to ignore the trolls.
I didn’t realize journalism meant that every allegation posted on YouTube (often citing anonymous sources) automatically becomes mandatory coverage.
My content is focused on Bitcoin education for the masses, not amplifying every claim that circulates in the community. And when serious accusations are involved, I’m not interested in trying people in the court of public opinion before the facts are established. I’m not a lawyer or a detective, and neither are you.
It’s bizarre to try to assign other creators’ coverage and then question their integrity because they didn’t cover a story the way you wanted them to.
Wish you well and hope you kept some Bitcoin.

Great Bitcoin education is extremely valuable. And relatable Bitcoin education is even better. But the real value is the person behind the Bitcoiner. That matters to me. And I think it matters for Bitcoin. Grateful I was able to see this in person. Enjoy learning in one of the best ways possible and from one of the best. ✨ @ProofOfMoney @MWBTCSummit

Sticks snap. Bundles don’t. 🎋
The Bundle of Sticks is a 2,600-year-old fable about how there is strength in unity…
…and perhaps, in Bitcoin, strength in not putting all your randomness in one place.
The bundle isn’t stronger because it’s bigger. It’s stronger because losing one piece doesn’t end the story.
Aesop had opinions about single-sig, apparently. 🤔₿
