The #SeaKraken are off to the hottest start in franchise history, but the team is now facing some major hurdles ahead of them!
We break this all down - and decode the Hometown Remix teasers - on this week's BTW Podcast!

The new #SeaKraken and #SeattleTorrent jerseys not leaking yet are the LEAST Seattle hockey things that could possibly happen!
Where's the PWHL social media intern who hits "post" instead of "draft" on a post?
Where's the obscure NBA team wearing the jersey for a walk-in?!
Derek here:
The Wild blackout is S tier. Edmonton’s is trash.
I also like Colorado, Carolina, and Toronto’s.
I dislike Florida, Chicago, Dallas, Boston..
What are y’all’s thoughts?
In case you’re more of a squinting person than a scrolling person…
We now have TWENTY of the upcoming Hometown Remix jerseys, nearly 2/3rds of the league. Who’s in the lead for your favorite?
🍎: @abslswrld @carterrichardd
Matt's gut reactions:
Ducks - Holy Moly, I love it!
Avs - Love the colors, should have Yeti foot.
Oilers - Announcers will hate those numbers (if the Abyss jerseys were an indication)
Wild - Perhaps my favorite color combo
Caps - Winnipeg Blue Bombers would like a word

Greg @wyshynski will be podding from the Fanatics office tomorrow… I’m sure nothing exciting will come from that 👀
Here is today's edition of @thesheethockey. Please join me and Marek for tomorrow's episode followed by one on Wednesday and then Thursday. Which is pretty cool to be able to say. #MvsW

With Jared McCann out, the Kraken will need to continue relying on their young players to produce. Players under 25 years old have accounted for 44% of their goals this year, which is the highest share that group has held in any season, by far

“Seattle has always been my home. It has always been my ANCHOR. I’m excited for it to take CENTER STAGE.”
Don’t you dare get my hopes up like this, #SeaKraken…
Horrible news for #SeaKraken fans as @SeattleKrakenPR have announced that F Jared McCann will be out TEN WEEKS with a lower-body injury.
It was announced yesterday that he was being evaluated and that Jani Nyman was being recalled to replace him

After logging the hottest start in franchise history, the #SeaKraken put up a punishing 5-1 L to the #MnWild. The Wild now hold a 7-game point streak over Seattle (6-0-1) dating back to 10/12/24.
Joey Daccord went 31/35 (.886 Sv%). Typically this wouldn’t be too upsetting, but this was a game that offered him next-to-no support both offensively and defensively.
The Kraken wouldn’t shoot after 20 minutes, players were easily getting behind the defense, and the only silver lining came from Berkly Catton continuing to grow into a great player with an excellent goal.
The Kraken have a few days off before facing the #Leafs on Wednesday and we are still awaiting an update on Jared McCann.
Hopefully we can shake this one off and bounce back next week.

Look… I know the #SeaKraken really didn’t have business winning that game, but that was pretty demoralizing…
After a competitive first period, they put up ONE shot in the second period!
Joey was rough tonight, but the offensive support was less than non-existent.
We have gone full Freaky Friday compared to last season in terms of goaltenders and playing in front of them.
At least two of our next three games are against the Flames…

Blaming PuckEmpire for the score right now
I'm officially in on Seattle as well.
I'm not sure how they're doing it, this team on paper looks atrocious, but hockey isn't played on paper.
On the actual ice, this is such a disciplined team. They stick to their system and play it well. Suffocation at their blue line on zone entry attempts. You physically cannot get anything on them 95% of the time unless you're dumping and chasing and win the foot race.
I thought they'd be one of the worst teams in the league before this season, after watching their first ~month of the season though, I'd be really shocked if they're not in the playoff race right to the end of the season.

This game has completely come apart. Joel Eriksson Ek scores on the rebound.
Seattle has only come back down three goals once in franchise history.

#SeaKraken LEGEND Tyler Pitlick heads to the box to end the second period.
Remember when the Kraken had 14 shots in the first and we were feeling good?
Well, in the second frame they had THREE SHOTS ON GOAL AND GAVE UP THREE GOALS!
Steep uphill climb incoming.
I think the time is maybe approaching where we need to reconsider the point of leaving Joey in as a ‘great culture move’ as Lambert said after the Panthers game… This is starting to get a little tough…
#SeaKraken
Chandler Stephenson and Ryker Evans being in the box simultaneously has to infuriate a section of the #SeaKraken fanbase who desperately want them off the ice and another section who will be furious if it results in a goal against…
Coleman takes another interference penalty for the #MnWild.
I sure hope we have a towering 6’9” player who can maybe rough him up a bit… #SeaKraken
