This NFT is the FIRST vaulted and tokenized physical collectible. It’s a major key card. One of the most important. This claim is to the best of my knowledge. It is owned by our @blokpax community. Now sure…some people stuck jpgs of random trading cards on NFTs prior to this but there was no custody mechanism or framework that established valid tokenization of a specific asset in any of those instances that I’ve seen. The world will eventually be tokenized. So many things (almost everything?) will have an on-chain title or provenance component. And when history eventually decides to look back at the infancy of asset tokenization I believe this Michael Jordan rookie card will be a very meaningful on-chain time capsule. It l belongs in a museum with its provenance remaining on-chain. I think that happens one day. Maybe after I’m gone. Maybe in a few short years…idk. As for the physical asset itself…After peaking in meat space auctions at about $750k similar PSA 10 86 Fleer Jordans dipped to about $140k post pandemic crash. The most recent sale was back to $370k with what feels like a solid base being formed to take these cards to $1 million in the decade ahead (not financial advice - do your own research). Back to this NFT. If anyone wants to point me to contrary info about the provenance of tokenized assets I’m happy to explore it. I’m not trying to make any false claims. The card in meat space has comps…sure. But the TOKEN on Ethereum that is the TITLE OF OWNERSHIP for THIS card is VERY SPECIAL. The blockchain has a lot of history to be explored. At worst, this card was the first for Blokpax…that’s worst case…but I believe it’s MUCH MUCH more than that. Until I’m shown otherwise. This is still GENESIS. iykyk 👊
